Love the review. We are returning for our 2nd time Labor Day weekend. This time we are going to upgrade to see if it’s worth it. There’s mixed reviews. Best thing is to upgrade and see what we think ourselves. 😊

We just got back from staying at LA. It was a mixed bag for us. The room was awesome. We had a private balcony with full ocean view. The housekeeping people were excellent. Everyone was very friendly. They have an on-site Starbucks. We ate at most all the restaurants. Hidden Garden had amazing ambience with some good food. The other restaurants were disappointing to us. I have a very low tolerance for alcohol. Just a few drinks and I have to stop sometimes. I had 4 drinks by the pool and felt nothing. They seemed watered down to me. I guess a solution would be to order something like a tequila sunrise and request a shot at the same time ?. The beer seemed flat as well. We stayed at Sun Palace on our last visit and the food was very good there as well as the drinks, but that resort is relentless as far as pushing time shares. We finally agreed to it and regretted it. Like a bunch of pushy used car salesmen. Never again. At Live Aqua the time share people never approached us which was very nice. The beach was very nice. Not many people there with many cabanas available that are free of charge. At the pool you have to rent them for $80 day I believe ? The seas were rough with red flags out so we didn’t swim in the ocean. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but because of the food and seemingly weak drinks we probably won’t return.

I see that you have add things since 2015. My wife and I spent our 30th wedding anniversary there. We had a wonderful time. The only thing that I did not like was the wedding party that took half of the pool area the one night, other than that we had a great time.

Yes, Live Aqua is a great hotel, but the do have many weddings there

I was there few months ago. Live Aqua is the WORST resort in Cancun. The buffet is just open for breakfast, for lunch and dinner you have to order it, means you have to make yourself busy with the things that you are trying for first time. Also they are not gonna allow you to use any of the BEDS around the pool and beach, those beds are for members only. Don’t waste your money, spend your money somewhere you can really enjoy! My suggestion? RIU Las Americas.

Hi Mason, thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay there. Yes, that's a shame that cabanas are for extra charge if you stay in a "regular" room. They are only included with suites bookings as far as I know

Bali beds by the pool are free except for the ones on the ocean side. Pretty much every resort charges for cabanas...also, it's not for members..they're just for people that paid for them
