My 1st live trial! I got “Facebook” mixed with “KZbin” & “Instagram”….sorry but you get the point. I was so taken away with the sight and I didn’t realize I had it set to view by link only-now it’s public 🤪 Anyways, what an amazing day!!!!! This beach walk will be fun to make!!!

I have only been shelling ~5yrs and haven’t seen piles like that since Lido Beach when they were doing dredging taking sand from the inlet to pump on beach and in the middle of that project a bad storm caused monumental piles feet deep 🤯

Yes! Thx for your TikTok live! That’s what we were thing too lol but we came Friday and Sunday and on Sunday it was reduced to like 1/2 so the waves will take care of the pens…crazy but from my observation more we’re just “empty” over being dead. What a sight it was!

Insane. Can't believe someone would trade a junonia for a scotchie. And no offense to anyone but not a nice one either. Dude was being super nice! I think your videos are amazing. Always looking forward to new ones!

So happy you are enjoying the videos-makes my heart happy b/c I really like sharing them!! OK here is the backstory 🤣 and you’ll feel better about it lol that same guy the day before found 10 Junonias in those piles at Marco! So parting with 1 that he found 2 this day was no big deal 🤪 So he walked away with 11 J’s and a bonnet as far as we know 🐚❤️

@@FloridaBeachWalks@FloridaBeachWalks Wow. No kidding. Some people have all the luck. I found my crappy one out in the water at this location. It's pretty pathetic lol. I found another at an estate sale here in Colorado along with a huge almost 6 inch deer cowrie and 5" lions paws. I sold the Junonia on ebay for $200. I know sacredlidge. I really do enjoy your videos.The video with the live marginalla is stunning! Thank-you!

Maybe we'll run into each other again at the beach some day. ❤

I cannot believe all the pen shells! So cool your friends found those junonias too. I guess Milton washed all those up. Kind of sad really. I wonder what they’ll do with them all. Can’t smell great. Blessings!
@FloridaBeachWalks2 ай бұрын
I was actually surprised, but there were more washed up empty pens than dead ones from my observation. Must have been tons just “there” in the water you know. Yeah, I get you-it’s like a two edged sword. Happy shelling to experience all the washups of shells normally not accessible too easily but not so happy storm results. I had a viewer say once that after storm shelling is natures ways of saying sorry. Shelling is so therapeutic for me and I know several others too…. so I can see that. Anyways, thx for watching 🐚

It’s sad for me to see all these dead shells.. this is disturbing.
@FloridaBeachWalks3 ай бұрын
A lot of those pen shells were empty. I thought they were all alive or dead at 1st sight but when I started investigating them that was not the case and I think that’s why so many washed up because they did not have anything in them. We put a lot of shells that were alive and moving back in the water, especially my friends who were finding large true tulips, they put several back in the water that would have been dead if they left them there. On the other side to this they are feeding other wildlife like the birds etc.
@TheGardeninglife-mn5vp3 ай бұрын
Yeah but keep in mind shells have a purpose and that’s only to eat each other and basically filter the sea water most shells are in fact predators and end up eating each other or end up as food for fish and crabs or like you see in the video all those pin shells are the main food for horse conchs , so don’t be to sad they are not human but God gave some a long lasting beautiful home in which humanity has used for thousands of years as currency and adornment which will out last me. And I’m one of those humans that loves to collect those shells too😊

From a week of high stress & storm prep and personally seeing my kids scared and myself from our devices blowing up from tornado warnings all around us and seeing & picking up trash on the east coast from the tornadoes…going to this beach with no drastic/catastrophic residential or business damage was the stress relief we needed and to bond with those we encountered on the beach was priceless. My thoughts and financial support have been with these families. Peace.

That is alot of devastated sea life, can you imagine what thats going to do to the ecosystem?????? dont get too happy! there will be repercussions for that unfortunately.
@ShellingAdventures3 ай бұрын
It’s all part of the circle of life in a part of the world which frequently sees hurricanes. The ecosystem (birds, fish, other snails) will thrive from the remains of these molluscs, and then bounce back as it always does.
@FloridaBeachWalks3 ай бұрын
@@ShellingAdventures Thank you Maddie-my point well explained ❤️🐚 I wish everyone would see “broadly” and not so narrowly. The stress relief (of being scared and prepping) on the beach, finding beautiful, empty shells and helping the live ones back in the water and bonding with the people on the beach about what happened was just amazing-and no one will take that away from us.

@@FloridaBeachWalks No worries Roxann 👌 it’s easy for our brains to fixate on one aspect of a situation, but rarely is life so straightforward. The butterfly effect is real, and I t’s interesting (for me anyway) to considering how these events can ripple out to make waves elsewhere.
@celiab28683 ай бұрын
I am shocked that shell collecting comes before the cleanup efforts of this devastated community. Priorities people.
@FloridaBeachWalks3 ай бұрын
This community was not affected by any disasters from hurricane Milton nor my local town. I have donated money to my prefered disaster relief agency (ADRA.org). Yesterday I picked up trash off the beach near Sebastian inlet from the tornado debris (see my latest short upload from yesterday w/a clip of that) and plan in the next few days w/my family and friends to further that clean up efforts by bringing huge trash bags to fill. Thx for your concern-I hope you are doing your part too. We should all do a small part b/c together it makes a big difference….these storm victims have been in my prayers daily.
