I love the Hip. 40 years, 13 studio albums, and over 1200 concerts later… the boys are still telling stories, connecting with us, and reminding us what it means to be Canadian. I’m proud to be a fan.

Thank you for this, CBC (essential Canadian cultural institution...don't defund!), and thank you, Hip, for everything. I lived in Walkerton during the water crisis...you came and lifted us...'Silver Jet' to open the set. But my favourite memory, the final tour, the final show, televised, I was gigging that night, another retirement home concert (my schtick) in Winnipeg, I knew I'd miss the first half-hour of your show, but the facility graciously provided a guest suite, so the moment I finished my show, I apologized to my venerable audience and dashed to the TV in my room, leaving my gear in the common room. About an hour later, a PSW knocked on my door, asking, "Are you getting your gear?" "After THE HIP!", I shouted. I think she understood. I was transfixed and immovable. Love you guys. Skarni

When I think, as a Canadian the culture of our country, I see Hockey with team Canada, I see our beautifully simple maple leaf flag, and The Tragically Hip as the soundtrack of this country.

OMG! Trouble at the Henhouse is probably my favorite album! I'm so sorry to hear it was such a negative experience. I remember when it came out I was thinking "My God these guys are just getting better and better!".

Saw them in Kingston in the stadium at Queens. Saw them again in a bar on Ontario street (I think that venue is gone now). What a talent. A gift to Canada.

Thinking back to The Hip on SNL and the killer version of Nautical Disaster they played that night. Gord Downie had just the right amount of menace and madness in that performance, and Johnny was so locked in on the drums. This interview...I hadn't seen Johnny Fay in years. I thought it was a different person altogether (the book's curator or the doc's director). Alas it was Mr. Fay.
