Glad you enjoyed the video. Ur right we probably could of raked a few spots, but alot of the weed is stuff that floats on the top and just needed a good bit of rain to push it through.

Really helpful video - can I ask, with the rig setup, do you want the shot on the bottom or is it designed to sit mid-water and just balance the float out? I'm new to this, so wasn't sure and would really appreciate any help :)

It's just to balance the float out, I like the bait to be able to roam about a little

@@reelanglerz5367 Thanks so much, proper useful! - gonna give it a try on our local canal - by chance I had a big perch take a small roach I'd hooked so thought live baiting might be a good idea. I guess you just adjust the top float stop to set the depth then?

Definitely the best tactic for the bigger ones! Yeh just slide it to the depth, winter I will normal start just off the bottom to about a foot, in the summer they will often take it on the drop, always worth trying different depths if nothing is happening. And be ready to move, it's often pretty instant if there's a few lurking about 👍

How far off the bottom did u fish the lives mate?

We would normally start half a foot to a foot of the bottom, and then adjust it until we started getting bites, normally about a foot off bottom, but some times right up near the surface if they were really hunting.
