They should have tried to get the RB's involved. I knew they would struggle to run it between the tackles. Texas threw to their backs out in space and those guys made plays and moved the chains.

As great, and impressionable of ND's/Riley's first drive was, I do not think it was good play calling for NDs best interest to win the game. Used up Riley off the bat, and then didn't follow up with right counter. Can't do same thing on next couple drives hoping for same result. Defense is too good. I would of went to Michigan game, not this year but of last years play calling vs OSU. Ground n pound w/ great RBs was expected but, attacked on pass, got OSU off balance, confused on how to play, keep us on our heels, cant call straight to what we've game planed against. Michigan last year attackes pass deep, back to run, back to vertical, got us confused, unsure, uncommitted. Gotta go with what works, no you dont if you dont see a victory without winning somewhere else. Win it by making the adjustments before the other team knows they need to adjust. Not unusual for OSU defense give up first drive/early TD then shut down what worked on that drive rest of game. Pulled out the passing attack too late, needed to play tie game is 7 down, 7 down call like 14. Couldn't afford to get down 2 scores vs this team. That first drive was not sustainable, 2 Fourth down conversions, 8 or 9 runs with riley. Needed to let Greathouse roll off of last game, come out early with Penn St 2nd half play calling, vertical aggressivness. Greathouse is great, but only if he's given the chance. Lastly, Howard was not right vs Michigan, can't game plan that game it was a one off, no ego involved, completely one off play calling chip doesn't have ego in game, but knew QB head wasn't in it. Howard was the most underrated QB this year, bc if what people think is around him. To watch a QB at work all year and never have that fear in your stomach on deep throws, or deep outside comeback, or throw into bad windows is an awesome feeling and overlooked all year. I watched em all and never felt doubt he couldn't overcome. 12 team playoff is great for that reason. Can see players learn from first experience in an surreal environment, or a game where you're not yourself, and grow to prove who you really are as a player.

McShay tells stories like he’s lying and trying too hard to make you believe him 😂 So many just small and irrelevant details. Yea man, we got it they’re remodeling the house down the street. I don’t need to know that your daughter is friends with theirs or if you open up your door we can see the house, just get to whatever your ultimately not that great point is! Respectfully.
