One of my ACE is experiencing death. I am a sensitive sentimental empathetic person. I care of people life even through my is not the healthiest. When I was young I experienced death and I am person that hides its feelings and doesn’t show their emotions in front of people. In other words don’t really express my feelings. Back to the topic, It was my grandmother she was the sweetest person around she took care of me while my mother and father were making ends meet( financial times were tuff). She was like a mother to me, and because of that, I have always helped and cared for her. Furthermore, I have a step father as my father figure. He is a diligent man and does everything for my mother while my grandmother was taking care of me. Adding on, my grandmother would tend to my needs, keep me nourish, pick me up from school when the day ends, etc…. I truly cared for her and got some sort of side effect from the traumatic loss. Ps: I can add more but it will be seen as another ace. This is mainly talking about me losing my grandmother that I looked up to as a mother figure. One last final thought, thank you Rae for sharing this campaign and your own personal experiences. I feel better and my heart is more complete.❤

My uncle just got murdered 5 days ago. I was there holding his stab wounds to stop the bleeding while screaming in his face that he's strong and he's got this. And both his kids which is my cousins were there as well. We are such a mess. Ty for doing this

Nobody should ever have to go through that, and I’m sorry such an unfortunate and gruesome thing happened to your uncle. Please take care of yourself and if possible, I highly recommend a therapist to work though that. Bc that’s a lot to process. I wish you and your family the best 💕

Thanks for being so brave Rae and everyone who shared their experiences. Having ACEs and navigating that in adulthood is tough. I dealt with a lot of death, substance abuse, and adults with mental health issues in my childhood. Funny enough the night before this stream I was searching for healthy coping mechanisms because I am a huge stress eater/drinker/smoker. I packed on some pounds since losing my job.. I feel like I focused on my career too hard and lost a lot of friends and now its kinda just gone and so are they so its tough. I’ll start walking (esp in nature), eating better, and trying to find more friends/events to lean on and talk to now. I also want to start setting healthy boundaries around work when I start again.

MYHeritage is unfortunately one of the worst DNA tests when it comes to ancestral regions. If it tells Rae she’s Scandinavian and Vietnamese I wouldn’t be surprised

They have a bigger amount of reference populations(therefore more regions are available and are more likely to be accurate) and have more money for their research. It’s a fine example of you get what you pay for. If you spend more money you get better results. It’s definitely no wonder my 23 & Me and Ancestry DNA results mirror each other while MyHeritage is the oddball. Significant oddball on top of that. Especially if you are mixed.
