Streamers do it to be discovered by people scolling and their stream can pop up. Idk who watching vert though

Phones. As kingbod said people can find the stream and then move over to the full screen. The view duration on vertical is short so they're mostly swapping over or going on their way. Some folks stay and hang out, probably should just go to the fullscreen and turn their phone sideways but idk lol
