Plastun is not a BMD, and is much smaller in weight and dimensions. I think they should recognize the need for a new type of tank, a breacher. Full 360 composite armor, the back plate being minimum 80mm. Segmented era, not that cheap 2 plate design. 4 tracks , angled underside, additional crew for independent 360 surveillance, not just wherever the turret turns. Skyward infrared for drones and a very high powered anti drone gun, coax with the machine gun. Yk, all the bells and whistles. Itll be heavy and expensive, difficult to transport, probably needing to be airdropped past the weaker bridges. Not alot are needed but the point is to have something for a push thats almost impossible for an atgm to take out reliably and mines to immobilize. The gap between settlements where there is no cover is where tanks are destroyed. If you can cover thar gap and start supressing positions at close range the normal tanks and apcs can move unbothered.

@korana63086 ай бұрын
T15 and Bumerang are too expensive, around $5 mil. USD per unit. Not practical. But Kurganets might eventually come, I think it costs half as much $2 - 3 mil. USD However BTR 82, is dirt cheap, and costs 200k - 300k USD. Which is why it's hard justifying switching to a new platform, as it will be manyfolds more expensive, and bloat Russian military budget out of proportion... Is it worth it? That is the main question. And that is the only reason why it is not being adopted yet. Potentially you could order it in a small batch, but the smaller the batch is the more expensive it will be, and the more expensive it's maintenance. i. e. economics of scale, if you do something alot. The price goes down drastically. And Russia has been doing this type of BTR for half a century and in particular, this model for like 30 years. And it knows it through and through and has thousands of it. In fact doing otherwise and going for those new type of BTR would be a mistake. Don't fix it if it isn't broken. Russia is not late with an SPG 152 mm "Koaliciya" as again, it requires a new type of munition, so there was a question whether it was worth it or not, to build a new factory for a new munition type, and now that it's financially justifiable it is already being built and will enter service in 2024. With regards to "Malva" it has only been developed recently like 3 years ago, that's an absolutely normal product development cycle... and as far as I know it is already entered service, and it's production is slowly ramping up (probably don't want to waste time with some presentations for youtube as it is more important at the front right now).
@miladinseratlic59846 ай бұрын
@@korana6308 There is NO way that Bumerang apc would cost up to $5M! Russia with domestic production of armor plates, Yamz engines, suspension should be able to build in serial production Bumerang for max $2M! For comparation Serbia build heavy *wheeled* ifv "Lazanski" and we don't have domestic production of anything so engine, suspension, transmission we buy but even then Lazanski cost not more than $2.5M while smaller Lazar 3M is like $1.5M. About spgh... Yes, Russia is very late with WHEELED howitzer.
@korana63086 ай бұрын
@@miladinseratlic5984 The problem with Bumerang originally was that it used western made parts, after which there was an order to make it cheaper and domesticate it's production. I don't know if they were able to solve that issue, or how much progress they'd made. But as I said, it is hard to justify anything other than a BTR 82a, which costs 200 k- 300k usd, it's dirt cheap, and the only weakness is it's armor, which is the only reason why everyone wants to upgrade them... But if you use it cautiously enough, it would still suffice at the front, as it protects from basic calibers guns like AKs and M4, and some shrapnel etc, and it survives a mine detonation. What else do you want from your IFV? that's the whole point. Basic level of protection, ease of repair and maintenance , almost unlimited off road capabilities, not afraid to lose it... what else do you want from an IFV, that is the actual question, and it's not obvious that you might want anything else, considering all those factors.

Looks good on Propaganda, Parades (if RuZZia can present some at the next one) and in Advertisements - not so good on the real Battlefield. Especially when commandet by morons and manned by poorly trained conscripts or even convicts.
