I believe your first relic appears to be what we have in modern times we call a tensor bandage clasp. Just a wild guess from seeing the little hooks in it that would catch the fabric of whatever they used back then. It does look like a shoe buckle at first. It may be for all I know. They made things to last back then.

I thought of that as well maybe it''s an older one. It sucks when you can't identify something 100%. Anyways thanks for watching!

2:37 to 2:47 did you see that?? Maybe the button belongs to the skull that is beside it with its neck attached still. I heard it crunch when you sunk your shovel to separate it from it’s torso. Poor guy.

Find it hard to believe you missed all those targets with the equinox, my buddy does great in the iron pulling stuff out? Some awesome coins you got there though!!! That brass piece is neither a shoe or knee buckle, no framework. Not sure what it is?? GL&HH Andrew..
@CanadianHistoryHunter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'll have to post a picture on one of those detecting forums maybe someone can identify it. Still not sure why I missed the stuff with my equinox, maybe it was a fluke but I did notice that the ctx 3030 is alot better in iron and getting those targets that were masked by a nail. Still love the equinox though. All the best and HH!

@@CanadianHistoryHunter have you posted the picture to a forum yet? You've got me really interested to find out what that piece is 🤔 It's shaped like a cathedral window 🤔

Yes, took a while to learn but I love it! Have you been out detecting at all since I went with you almost a year ago?
@cachemole4 жыл бұрын
@@CanadianHistoryHunter I think a few times. I sold all my stuff again and quit...lol. But Im going to make a 3rd comeback...🤦♂️ So do you like the CTX over the Equinox?
@CanadianHistoryHunter4 жыл бұрын
@@cachemole It will be nice to see you back at it!! I like the ctx alot better but I still love the equinox. Are you gonna get the equinox again?
@cachemole4 жыл бұрын
@@CanadianHistoryHunter Thanks Mike. I ended up getting an Etrac. I managed to get it for an awesome price new so I went with it over the Nox. Kinda foolish I know because its so old now but I liked mine before and the price was right.

Great hunt! Congrats! 👍 Love those old coppers! I dug one of those Brock tokens recently along with an 1814 Wellington HP in the same spot. BoM is still on my bucket list. The Nova Scotia is pretty sweet and far from home!

Wow, so many really great coppers on this hunt. I was amazed really at the various ones that you found. I was happy that you found some not very commonly found ones at that 👍😃 Isn't it really amazing how after all these years that the silver plated button has almost the whole top of the button covered in the silver still. Great hunt!!!
@CanadianHistoryHunter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's what I love about metal detecting around old house sites because sometimes you can find a big variety of coins and relics. I guess it may depend on what province or country that person came from in the early days that brought that stuff with them then dropped it here!! I wish that whole button was silver but its still really cool. Thanks for watching :)
