A long time ago when I was a child I drew a lot, I did not draw well, but I liked to draw i remember that made strange things, strange men, cat, children's things, all of that up to high school. later I remember that a boy of my age told me "Hey you must stop drawing if you keep drawing, watching comics and all that kind of things you will never have family or friends you will never have a girlfriend because drawing is for losers. I thought After 4 years passed, and I saw you later after I saw Jim Lee I remember seeing what he does remember seeing your job your life and telling myself, Wow he does not look like a loser So I went back to take my pencil paper Fine to draw now I'm not the best I honestly think I drew crap but I like it

If you look closely you can see the outline of the drawling and hes just going over the outline.

The outline was also drawn by him before filming to save time. It is a practice of almost all digital artists. Just like drawing with pencil 1st & drawing over it with brush/ sketch pen etc.

Yeah, he does the underlayer himself, lowers the opacity, and then does cleaner lines over it in a new layer. He didn't include that phase just to save time for the video.

That is the way we draw digitally. We draw a rough on one layer, lower its opacity and draw the fair in a layer on top of it. Sometimes, the rough can be a paper drawn work which is scanned and imported to PS or any app to be used. It is not cheating.
