Regarding the situation in Bangladesh, the question raised by the audience was irrelevant. Hindus and Buddhists are not minorities in Bangladesh. Claiming they are is an attempt to create communal tension and destabilize the country. Bangladeshis do not raise concerns about Muslim and Christian minorities, despite the brutal acts against these groups in India. That is India’s personal political agenda, and Bangladesh does not follow such communal politics. Bangladesh is a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people. Anyone born in Bangladesh is a Bangladeshi citizen, regardless of religion. We are Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Christians, and Muslims, but religion is not the defining issue for us. Over the past 53 years, although we have been under Indian influence, we haven’t seen major progress in our region. Instead, India has often sought to exploit Bangladesh. It is time to adopt the philosophy of the USA, and as a result, the mindset of the Bangladeshi people is shifting toward American ideals. We ask that you stop interfering in our affairs. India is welcome to do business with us, but it must be fair. We are family, but not foes.

Mr. J Shankar is stuttering and rephrasing every sentences he speaks. He is talking to audience as if he is lecturing in a class about foreign policy. It shows that deep inside he knows his foreign diplomacy in the south east asia is not working. He did exactly opposite to what he is saying and most ironically all the efforts has backfired. And the biggest failure for him so far is 'Fall of Hasina'. Even he himself admitts that 'Bangladesh is a bit different.'
