The 2023 Ryder Cup is the 44th edition and runs between September 25 - October 1. Luke Donald is the European Team Captain and Zach Johnson is the U.S. Team Captain. The U.S. are the reigning champions after winning 19-9 at Whistling Straits in 2021. Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. Drama, tension, incredible golf, camaraderie and sportsmanship are served in equal measure, captivating an audience of millions around the world. It’s an event that transcends sport, yet remains true to the spirit of its founder, Samuel Ryder.

The questions asked around 20:48 into the video: What unites the European team? As a Brit living in America since 1990 and seeing it from both sides, the difference is the European players often travel to tournaments together and are mainly friends. The American players are all flying in on their private jets and are selfishly their own entity for the most part. Also, I point out Cantlay believing players should be paid for this rare opportunity to represent their own countries is just pure greed. These guys make way too much money as it is. The Ryder cup is where you give something back. Shame on you Cantlay!

i looked forward to this press conference to hear everyone. These didnt seem like a team press conference at all. Why dont they focus on every player and ask everyone a question. This was all about Rory and the «older ‘english speaking’ guys». Someone like Viktor who won his match by the biggest margin and also made a historic win in the fourballs (with (Aberg) and was one of the best, was totally ignored by these journalistss (who only focus on certain players). Very boring and disrespectful.

I get your point and it is a valid one but its always this way. That said I guarantee you none of the European players feel that way. They win or lose as a team and to me that is what sets them apart from the USA which always strikes me as a group of highly skilled players not a team. The USA spend way too much time saying they are a team without showing it in my view.

I think team Europe should send La Cava one of their jerseys with a letter of thanks. It's the least they can do. Look...Joe's conduct as a caddie was nothing short of egregious! There should be disciplinary action to follow. I wouldn't even expect a player to behave that rudely, never mind a caddie sashaying around on a green, while in play!?! Rory conveyed both that he was passionate about this Cup and that he's human. Hats off to you Rory - an icon within this sport. I have to give the greatest of honors/respect to Mr. Fowler. For those of you that know so little about this sport, Ricky "gave" Fleetwood NOTHING. It was over and at least he (Mr. Fowler) - unlike some others on this team - showed true class. The list of team USA's embarrassments is long but there's no denying that JT succumbed to the pressure as we watched his childish no-hat tipping antics REPEATEDLY. Finally, I give the Marco Simone course, staff, employees, officials and local crowd a hats off! While the majority showed support for their European team, they did not behave like morons. I'm guessing the same will not hold true in 2 years.

I have always said the Europeans are better as a team even though the USA is usually better on paper. Its been this way for many years with an odd exception therefore you surely must put a lot of it down to team spirit of the Europeans that helps them. 10/14 is a great record.
