Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a live event in Sydney, Australia. This event was part of a lecture series called The Brain Body Contract. My favorite part of the evening was the question and answer period, where I had the opportunity to answer questions from the attendees of each event. Included here is the Q&A from our event at the Sydney Opera House.
Thank you to our sponsors

Me and my mate Oskar asked you the question about how to find your passion that night, really great answer thanks Andrew. When that question hit the board both our hearts dropped it was amazing seeing you answer something that we had asked especially after only watching you through a screen. Your simplification of complex ideas is inspiring towards my articulation of thoughts and your Protocols and advice have greatly helped me to improve my health and overall peace. Thank you

Thank you! This time I'll say Andrew, because you have been more than a friend to us by giving us the data and tools to improve our lives in ways we would have not otherwise found. You have been unselfish and so humble. I was struck by the last question on finding one's passion. This really tied together my gravitating to all things animal, insects, fungus,etc. as a child and the "feelings" during that time to ultimately working with dogs, SO interesting. Also, thank you for the present series with Dr. Matt Walker on sleep... I've been getting my sleep right since way back when you and Dr Walker (and Costello) educated us on sleep ! Costello being the best representative of course! Thank you again and again!

Brilliant answer to the passion question. It would be so amazing to be 17 again with so many exciting adventures ahead. I lost myself at that age. Impulsive behaviour and risk taking of all sorts. Isn’t funny how our maladaptive coping skills will only work for so long before we need to reevaluate things. That’s hard to do in your 50s. I took a time machine to the past and started listening to all the music I loved in my early teens. I was always listening to something back then. I even found songs that I’d forgotten about. That was pretty moving. It really helped me relive those feelings in a magical way. God knows we all need a little magic in our lives.

His answer was a bit too vague though, I think a more pointed answer is “what feels like play to you but looks like work to others”.
@lindaohanraha-hanrahan2817
@lindaohanraha-hanrahan2817 13 күн бұрын
@@trentbosnic It is left to interpretation. I was a professional musician when I was younger and exploring the roots of my passion helped me go back. It’s where I feel free. And it’s hard work but the feeling of accomplishment you get after writing a great song is indescribable. My mother always told me that there was no security in being a musician. So I had that to unpack. Especially since she was a classically trained vocalist. But that’s all just old baggage.

Yep, I think I would've added that what you're passionate about will change over time too, so don't be unwilling to change with it. And let yourself be bored. It will help identify what you're passionate about.

@@TheBroSplit Dr. Greger said, that topical application was the only method of using vitamin C that was proven beneficial. Which was quite controvelsial, since everybody probably took vit C tablets "for better health" during our lifetime. The fact that whole fruit / veg is always the best way to go is true, but I wanted to follow the format of your initial suggestions (including substances like collagen, etc.). Maybe I'll try this topical vit C myself then, to see how/if it works.

24:37 how I understood the method to avoid jetlag: You have to get bright light into your eyes 2 hours before your "temperature minimum" if the destination time is earlier, and you have to get bright light into your eyes 2 hours after your "temperature minimum", if your destination time is later. Doing this once will move your "internal clock" one hour. So, if your destination is in a time zone, which is 7 hours away, you'd have to start adapting 7 days before. This should include registering the time, when you wake up naturally in the middle of the night. The time you register is 2 hours after your "temperature minimum". And this registered time should shift, if you are doing the abovementioned light viewing procedure correctly. This is how I understood, what Prof. Dr. Huberman is saying.

@Apollo440
@Apollo440 12 күн бұрын
Dear @@PaulaHeartland, you're welcome! It is important to add, that during the adaptation period, you have to limit light exposure, in accordance with your destination's nighttime schedule (hours between dusk and dawn). During those hours: limit bright light. Prof. Dr. Huberman mentioned shaded glasses and wearing a hood/cap (or limiting light from above). I would add - putting "blue light filter" apps on your phone and other media devices, dimming brightness/contrast on all screens, using dim and yellow or red light (bulbs) during those hours. During daylight hours: expose your eyes to bright light and/or blue light.

1. Mr. Andrew is promoting consumerism and materialism like posting videos on X wearing Roka hat and drinking Yerba Mate in a grocery store (Sir Andrew please pay First) 2. During Sir Andrew’s live Q&A event in Sydney, Australia the slides on screen had 8sleep and AG1, your audience paid for the brain body contract not NASCAR 3. Mr. Andrew - here’s a suggestion; at your next live event be like Oprah Winfrey “YOU get AG1, 8sleep, Roka and Yerba Mate” and conduct your guest interviews with logos, AG1, 8sleep and Roka across your signature black shirts 4. Andrew please don’t get tattoos of AG1, 8sleep, Roka and Yerba Mate on your Forehead - I fear you will become like a mouse, pressing on lever because it’s all about the Benjamins 5. Sir Andrew is being exploitative and pimping out his viewers like ME with greed of cash money. During Dr. David Yeager interview, Mr. Andrew is drinking from a Yerba Mate cup - recommendation show us the brewing process as well next time 6. I don't recall Dr. Stephen Hawking selling his soul for dead presidents and disguise his behavior under the umbrella of Science 7. Sir Andrew is shielding his immoral actions in the “interest of Science” his audience/viewers is becoming his grand experiment to promote himself 8. Sir Andrew shirtless tiktok video is a prime example, here’s another suggestion Mr. Andrew - release a sex tape title “Andrew Huberman Does Dallas - brain body contract” 9. As an aspiring black female Neuroscientist, I’m deeply haunted by the path you’re paving for my generation 10. Sir Andrew rebrands Eastern practices and philosophies (Hinduism, Buddhism, Ayurveda) on sleep, light, mediation ex: Yoga Nidra repackage as “non sleep deep rest” 11. Mr. Andrew is like a used car salesman - Zero cost website Huberman Lab bait and switch Huberman Lab Premium $100 annually and where to buy HIS supplements/tickets to live events 12. Mr. Andrew is an illusionist, weaving a classic tale of a turbulent past to captivate his viewers with eloquent word fillers - recommendation sell your biopic to Hollywood, perhaps the Rock to depict you 13. Mr. Andrew claims he reads ALL his KZbin comments, so this is MY experiment - please response within 7 days (not by one of your hired Drones) 14. Sir Andrew please restructure your unethical behavior and address ALL my concerns in the “interest of Science” and please don’t apply the Tom Brady excuse - every Podcaster does it to offset cost 15. I promoted you to my inner circle but lately we feel like geese - forced fed materialism consumerism to increase your investments and bankroll
