The BJP has made history in Haryana by defying all exit poll predictions. While the Indian alliance has gained ground in Jammu and Kashmir, most polls had favored the Congress, suggesting they would return to power after a decade. Contrary to expectations, the BJP achieved a remarkable victory, securing 48 seats, while the Congress, despite gaining six seats compared to the previous election, fell short with only 37 seats. The INLD and JJP, once significant players in Haryana, have been entirely eliminated, and the Aam Aadmi Party faced a major setback, failing to win any seats.
In Jammu and Kashmir, however, the Congress and the National Conference have emerged successful. The India Alliance claimed 49 of the 90 seats in the assembly, while the BJP managed to secure 29. Omar Abdullah of the National Conference is poised to become chief minister once again, while Nawab Singh Sayani is expected to take on the role in Haryana.
