Hey guys, TheSupremeRk9s here! With my luck being WAY too good lately, I decided we would switch it up & head back to Hoenn by restarting some files & going after ALL 3 HOENN STARTERS!!! But what we didn't know was the main target wasn't even a starter at all.... it was the elusive uncatchable Shiny Pooch! Everyone is always fearing the failure of this sweet little pup, but not me. I stared fate dead in the face and said "send one my way baby!!" Luckily, I was able to touch all the bases in this hunt without too much trouble ~ including the pooch himself! Gen 3 only generates 1 shiny frame per time a frame hits, and it's only assigned to one of them, meaning it's impossible to get both a shiny starter and a shiny pooch in the very same battle.

I've been trying to breed a shiny mudkip for literal years (yes I've been using the matsuda method) and still haven't gotten one. I've got so many boxes full of mudkips.

@@Kai-sx3vf Quick tip- hunt Mudkip on Pokémon Go instead. They spawn near the water, and it's a 1 in 450 chance instead of 1 in 683 or 512 (depending on if you have the Shiny Charm), so you will get it faster. May take a few days, though. I have 2 myself from the Mudkip Community Day- one I evolved into a Marshtomp.

I calculated that you did 18776 on that sapphire without a single shiny. At least the ruby shined through! Congrats on the starters! I finished my round of Hoenn starters last year. It took me 8 month and 6 shiny pooches before i got mudkip but it was well worth it. I hope you keep this luck streak. You deserve it! Thank you for making content! I know it’s probably unlikely anyone will see this but something really interesting happened to me the other day. I bought a copy of Pokémon Ruby and started going for treecko after watching this video and I saw how much you liked the ID number. Anyways on one reset I accidentally clicked new game and decided to just go with it to go for a cool ID number like you did, and literally the first attempt my ID number was 2 away from yours at 44473. I thought it was really crazy that I got a 1/10000 first try because that’s the odds of getting that close to your ID #

Alec Voyles I’m pretty sure it works the same as it does in emerald where you can’t really SR but you can do random encounters. It has something to do with the frame being the determining factor on it being shiny. Not 100% sure. Just trying to remember what he said on stream.

Well only re works Sr will always give you the same seed/ same frames, if you have early frames though, then go wild! You can replace the battery though, and it will work fine again, unless emerald, that ones fed forever

Old shiny hunting superstitions, it doesn't mean anything. People used to say IDs with multiples of the same number (ex: 00000) or pyramids (ex: 12321) etc, were luckier files but it doesn't actually mean anything.

Edufd3s just think of it like a four leaf clover. considered lucky but in all actuality it’s just being superstitious. basically it just looks cool and is satisfying to have on a shiny but has no bearing on your shiny odds.
