How dope is this? Exclusive access to JASON to ask any questions you may have, and play with all his forging tools! Very kool. Lucky it wasn’t me, I would start showing up every day. Lol, “ hey there Jason, I was just in the neighborhood, again, I know it’s strange I’ve been the neighborhood for the last 14 days.... strange, I know..”

Jason proves time and time again that if you are organized and have a well thought out plan you can accomplish anything. Lol. Amazing work. Keep up the good work

When cutting meat I have noticed at least on 5160 leaf spring that the meat can etch the steel if not cleaned off quickly...likely the same for fruit juices. I spent the last three years mostly building skills and had a very limited budget so I used mostly leaf springs. However, leaf springs of a ford are one of the things you can get virgin smelt 5160 from.

That's awesome. I've been watching OTW for almost a year now. Or something around there. Found Nathan when he had about maybe 10,000 subs. Great demeanor. Been watching Jason for about 2 or 3 months now I guess. Awesome that you two guys geographically that close to each other. Great content from both you guys. Thanks for sharing all the info on both channels.

Helll yes! 2 of my most favorite channels! I'm a wood turner working on getting into smithing and I just almost pooped when I saw you two guys together! You should do some more vids together, figure out a way you guys can play off each other's channels, maybe Jason makes blades and tools for Curt and Curt supplies the wood for handles and such! Hell ya, love this vid!

Jason, I watched you and Nathan making the bark spud. I learned more in that time than many years watching Forged in Fire. Thank you both. I am a woodworker, retired arborist, and able in a little metal work.

Holy crap. When you mentioned twisted wood, my first thought was epoxy resin. It was so cheap back then but now has such a good use since everyone realized it was better than ilquid plastic. Glad some of us are on the same page.

Hay, wouldn't it be cool if you went to the sawmill and visited with Nathan! Maby display some stuff on that oak table during a live feed or something? I think it's cool you guys are neighbors! Maby together you can make a display table or wall mount for your shop to show your stuff during your video sessions. Check it out & keep pushin on

Sounds like you got that little miller tuned up better 🤙. If that’s a 215 multiprocess, you can Tig weld your billets together without having to grind the wire welds off. It’s as easy as melting the edges together without any filler rod so you won’t get any contamination from the wire. You’ll have to change the bottle to pure argon though. You ever want to advance your arc welding let me know 😅

you could have flattened the 'sides' of the piece of the improvised mandrill to make it fit better in the vise and would have had a start on making it a knife. I learned from experience you need to flatten something round for it to fit in a vise.

I don't know if you've ever tried ,when you are going to tack weld your pieces together try using a torch to heat the metal until you have a puddle and work it like if you are welding then you don't have mild steel on your high carbon just a little fyi
