That's not Jonesy. He is Johnathon Jones, one the creators of Battle Royale, which is a simulation btw. And my theory was that Midas was trying to stop the storm because it is very harmful. He then succeeds at his plan, which glitches the storm, thus causing the creators to freak out. How could one of the players in the simulation become self aware? John is talking to one of the creators about fixing the storm, which is why it is filled with water.
