I got the compact a little over a month ago, it’s the second run with no MIM internals. I don’t mind the grip, it works, are there “cooler” looking grips out there? Sure, but I doubt I’ll change it. Maybe it’s the changes they made in manufacturing, maybe I got lucky, but mine runs like if a Swiss watch and a Ferrari had a child. Smooth, zero slop on any part, it’s quickly becoming my favorite pistol. I’m just hoping the holster I ordered fits lol

@michaelolin2219 ... Yeah, I think mine is from the first run, when they used MIM parts and were in a hurry to meet the release date, so that's why it had issues. Glad to hear that yours is running great, and good luck with the holster. Thanks!

I purchased an Apollo 11 today and shot it directly after in the stores indoor range. It’s the commander length. Shot 75 rounds. 0 malfunctions. Cheap blazer 9mm ammo. The weight and balance feel so good and it feels really quality and beautiful. It was really fun to shoot and I was smiling.

I agree with the weakness of the grip... Looking for a suitable grip now. Not looking for another prodigy grip (even though it's a great grip).... Just trying to make it look different and more sturdy.

Good video bruh... $40.00 for a much better grip is a damn good option. I saw a video with QVO Tactical and the Apollo 11 was having issues with the trigger not engaging or firing and he suspected the grip being an issue if that's the problem with the Apollo 11 it seems to be a quick fix if so I may still consider one for my project pistol. Nice job bruh... 😎

@Thomas-vt7cz ... Thanks! And yeah, most of the issues I've had, and seen from others, are pretty easy to fix with some minor adjustments or fitting. My Apollo has a low serial number, so it probably came from the first batch and has more issues than a later production would have.

I put the Cosaints grip on my 4.25 Apollo . For $230 it’s so much thicker and looks way better. Was a little bit of fitting but if you’re comfortable swapping the grip yourself then you can file fit the parts

Seen a few people do the Prodigy grip but I'm not a fan. Looking into other options. Overall, good video so thanks for the update and coverage of changes.

@love4gtsandguns ... I'd like to do something different as well, but dang, most of the grips that I've looked at are really expensive. If I get the bugs worked out, then I'll probably get something better.

@jujuscustomshop Yeah, they are pricey from what I've seen, $250-$500 on average. Maybe worth an investment later.

Its funny LFA as i own the AMP sometimes one needs to take the the time do go over there firearms SAFELY and do thise tweeks function checks along with routine PMCS and you can turn a zero to a Hero. Never modify any firearms beyond your actual knowledge and capabilities for a SAFE and reliable tested firearm. Looks nice great video

I already check their website and there is nothing on it like grips and really want to replace mine too and want one for my Tisas B9R DS also. You say the grips cost about $40 box. @BGGUNS ... Thanks Teddy! To get the grip module, you will have to call Springfield Armory directly at the number on the "Contact Us" page of their website, and order it over the phone since they do not list the grip on the website. And yes, the grip module cost about $40 when I ordered it.

Just pin the grip safety, there’s literally no use for one unless you’re carrying this.

Where did you source the threaded barrel from? Any fitting needed?

@themotorhino1331 ... You can get a threaded barrel from places like Jarvis Custom, Bar-Sto, and Fusion Firearms. Jarvis and Bar-Sto offer drop-in barrels that should require little to no fitting at all, but Fusion sells match barrels that will require quite a bit of fitting. The Apollo 11 uses a Wilson/Nolan ramped bull barrel, so any place that you can get one of those should be fine, but there will be fitting involved if it's not specifically stated that it's a "drop-in" barrel.

@tulemike6627 ... Most of the internal parts are the same as a 1911, except the trigger, which needs a wider bow because of the double stack magazine.
