I am ASTONISHED at how deep and candid Joe’s interviews are. Paul Stanley is a very bright person with his eyes open and his brain engaged. I only hope young (and not so young) musicians will hear the experience in these words, and will find a way to use them. Bravo Joe, and bravo Paul! 💜🦋😷

Great interview , have always loved kiss since the 70s , great band and paul is my favorite rock singer , seen kiss 4 times all 4 were crazy awsome , kiss always delivers for there fans. Paul has always claimed drugs wasn't his thing, I think is so cool , and very important for all kids to hear, he is a true icon , a great hero, and role model and in rock that kind of rock star is very rare and what separates greatness from fame if that makes since , paul stanley is proof that rock isn't just sex drugs rock n roll, he is truly one of the greatest singers , song writers, guitarist , performers under the sun..

How refreshing to hear someone call “bs” on the whole self-serving “I have to play it different every night” many artists throw out. You can play it different any time you want… any time when people aren’t paying you to play it like they love it. Love your fans, respect the music, put yourself aside. Well done, Paul. Been a fan since the Alive album, saw the band in 77, and found a new respect for you today.

@mrsockmonkey19694 жыл бұрын
The overwhelming point I’m taking away from this interview is how grateful Paul is for the success that he’s had and how much he feels like he owes his fans for it. No sense of entitlement here. He realizes he was blessed with a gift and sharing that with people to make their life better is so much more important than ego. So many entertainers should take a huge lesson from Paul about how to build a career that will outlive them.

Brothers, I was there when Rock and Brews with Gene, and Shannon and Wounded Warrior project opened the spot. Next time down from the 4th Corner I will be there my loyalest "unannoitted" circle of closest friends in tow. I had the privilege to briefly discuss radical Islam with Gene. His responses literally and simultaneously cemented my lifelong convictions regarding this. Shannon as well was an absolute pleasure to meet and chat with. She was 10s across all but volume about everything including her soft cast that she wore as a result of injuring her foot! KEVIN K (My OIF 1 team mate) and I are full on fans of both of you guys and KISS. I still have the R and B opening pics, if desired.

I'm from the school of phonograph learning as well. I remember one summer I set up my record player by the window in my room I worked at a golf course so when I got home from work I noticed something different about my record that I left on the player. I had a one inch warp on the record that jumped the needle off the record. Just a horrible noise then nothing. I was able to play the last two songs but the first couple were no go. lol... That album btw was a brand new copy of FogHat rockin roll outlaws. One of my favorites to this day. I learned every song on it after I saved up enough to buy another copy. And yes I moved my record player away from the window. Back then I played an old Kay strat copy that was red with a maple neck. I don't know what ever happened to it but wish I still had it. Thanks you guys love story's about days past and how things came to be. 🎸🤓🎸🇺🇸☮

Bet that was an amazing experience! However I have a slight correction. It would have been 3 years after they started. They were formed and started playing in 73. Kiss has always been my favorite group. I'm beyond jealous you got to see them back in the day. My first kiss show was 20 years ago and I've seen them 12 times since. I still remember my First KISS concert when I was in HS back in 75-77 A great show like no other. I still remember the story about Kiss playing on New Years Eve and opening up for ZZ Top ( I think it was them) and after ZZ Top was done the crowd was screaming for KISS too come back onstage. Talking about John 5's KISS collection & Gene Simmons is probably the only other person that has a more extensive collection.
@scottthomas47794 жыл бұрын
That actually happened to lots of bands that took kiss on tour back in the day. So much so that getting them out on the road was tough because nobody wanted to follow them. Black Sabbath actually got run off the stage after kiss opened for them one night and after that night kiss was kicked off the tour.

Got to briefly meet Joe at the Fox in Atlanta. He too was generous and out going. A woman I worked with (beautiful!) back in early 80s, she had spent some time with Paul after a show. She said he was a really nice guy, not pushy, not at all self-entitled, polite and intelligent. Not what she has expected from a "rock star".

You , just the "average joe by day", but Lord of the strings by night. I have been following you all of your career, have all your CD's, DVD's, T-shirts, and have watched you live. and also watched your many successes you've had. Buy, on your terms. That takes courage and good advisors / managing (you know who) and parents. The latter being the most important in my opinion. Now you have found another talent you didn't know you had. A true INTERVIEWER with the background to back up the subject. Thanks for your effort and like all your other endeavors this too will give you satisfaction and will also give joy to others. From the bottom of my heart, and my 74 strat for your putting the fire back in my belly to play again. As you know, the time when the guitar is in your hand for a couple of hours a night is the only happy time when your on the road. That leads to you wanting nothing to do with the musician's lifestyle in a hurry so, Thank You, Just an old picker that "knows one when he see's one". Take care a safe travels. :}

I'm 58, a 100 ton professional Captain, and had the chance a year ago to drive Paul and his family/entourage over to Sunset Key in Key West. I was inspired by Kiss to play music when I was 14. The Kiss Kruse Ship stopped here for the day. I asked Paul's runner if I was allowed to say hi and was told "NO." Just a smile and nod. They trusted me to drive him back and forth on a ship, but not to simply shake hands. And this was way before the virus. Sad.
