There was a time in the Philippines (sometime 2004-2007) where there were abundant graduates in Nursing. That hospitals, private and public, required nurses to undergo hospital training for 2 months and pay the hospital around 5 thousand pesos. So, in order for new nurses to have a work experience, they pay, without guarantee that they will get absorb or hired by that hospital. its like a modern day slavery. Its even worst because they pay their masters.

Why do they produce skill deficient engineers for no purpose? It is obscene to think that four years wasted in an engineering college to come out clueless to do the expected work! The governments need to look into it and up-skill the students to adequate level so that when they leave the studies they are informed and has the capacity to take the jobs offered! As it stands, it is a national shame!

Kids also have to change their mentality. Rather than looking for readymade jobs, they need to be creative and focus on start-ups. While India is growing so fast there are so many opportunities . we can reduce dependence on other countries. In Canada average teenage kids do small small jobs beside study and make extra cash make clients and learn self development.

Those cats you have seen in this video almost 3/4 of them were from the coastal towns of Malindi, Lamu and Old Town Mombasa! I just wanted to comment on the Cognizant thing. I think they are being generous, and I have a valid reason for that. Follow along: I studied from a tier 3 Engineering College and I can assure you that 95% of my batchmates didn't know how to code properly. Why would a foreign company pay these guys a good salary. I remember, once I cracked a medium difficulty question while me and my friends were in a coding competition and they were like "this guy is a genius", and I thought, "no I am just average, you guys are dumb". Techies reading this comment will say that it's not just about coding in IT, and yeah I know, but coding is the basic thing that you should know when you flaunt your CS degree. The recent graduates just know how to fill up sheets with lengthy answers in the exams, if you ask them a coding question, literally everyone will fail (with just a handful exceptions). Anyone reading this comment thinks that they deserve more than what Cognizant is giving, can try for other well paying companies, but for that you'll need to skill up.
