Thank you for this wonderful video! I really enjoy your mock tests and always wondering how much time and effort did it take to achieve this level of playing. My daughter started to play three months ago and I am just curious when she will be ready for her grade, if she carries on playing. Could you tell me from your own experience in general when a child is ready for grade 1,thanks=)

If they are keen and practice well it can be achieved within a year (with a good teacher as well)

ABRSM grade 1 scales are 8th notes with the beat on the 1/4 note at 60bpm. As far as I can tell she was playing the scales between 90 and 100bpm. Would you not loose points playing them too fast or is the stated speed just a minimum.

I's just a minimum, playing faster won't gain or lose marks unless the speed causes other problems in lack of tonal control or even rhythm for example.
