Nice work. I don’t like too much aluminum on mine but just in weak areas. I do have a massive heavy 4s 4500mah 90C battery from SMC. I should’ve checked the specs before getting it. Each of my sons have the much lighter 3700kv version . Anyway here’s mine: Ford GT Black 35/62 gearing Holmes Hobbies 2700kv Puller Pro Mamba X Spektrum glitch buster Hot Racing motor fan heatsink Bastens heatsink GPM front shock tower GPM aluminum tie rods with stabilizers Front/Rear: 40wt/35wt shock oil Front/Rear: 4mm/4mm preload Acer interior ceramic bearings Front/Rear: 100k/10k diff oil Front: Contact foam tires 26mm 40shore Rear: BSR foam 45mm 32shore GPS’d at 65mph. I can gear higher but no need. I love the combination of speed, acceleration, and handling. The stock servo is good enough although I have several high end servos I can use in case the stocker craps out

I’m sorry to have to say this but this is ridiculously stupid. I’ve been racing RC cars for over twenty years and people who do this to RC cars never really drive them. All that aluminum weighs the car down and when you wreck it instead of something just breaking because it was plastic now it just bends because you put on super fancy aluminum. It looks like he has the stock ESC and motor so it probably not quicker unless you change out the pinion gear that can make a big difference. I'm talking big difference but you better put a fan on that motor

I know, its been 4 years, but ill give it a go anymay. My 2.0 makes the same clicking/grinding noise, when i move it (motor is out) I bought it second hand and the noise is comming from the differential. I disassembled it and moved the gear, that connects to the center drive shaft a bit back - it went away. My worry is, that its not secured in place in any way, so it could just slip out of the bearing again and start grinding. Should there be some kind of a stopper or a shim, that prevents that gear from moving back and forth? Is there a way to somehow glue it to the bearing, so it does not slip out anymore?

MotoGamer a quick Google search tells me that "The helical design produces less vibration and noise than conventional straight-cut or spur-cut gear with straight teeth." My only question is where did you get spiral cut gears for the 4 Tec?!
