Because Hollywood get access to music we don’t. I googled it and Kevin smith said he originally had it in the first screening of Mallrats but live decided they wanted to hang onto it and maybe release it. When he did Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, he requested it again and got denied. Finally they allowed it for Zack and Miri and the reception was so good, they finally released it on the anniversary reissue of Throwing Copper.

I first heard this through Zack and Miri, like most people. Heard the name Live through the years until September 2024. A friend of my Brazilian sister-in-law and I were talking basslines in our AirBnB in Notting Hill and he showed me Pain Lies On the Riverside, which is an amazing tune. Rewatched the movie and found this again, more inclined to hear it than ever before. Love it now

I love the fact that people are just finding this song due to a movie. Back in 95 I had a very rough copy of this song on a mixtape. The recording was very rough due to dubbing, but it was on there along with 3 of the songs from throwing copper. I loved the album and this song and I'm glad that it has finally released.

Just heard this on "Zack and Miri make a .." and immediately recognised it as Live and was very much pleased! I used to listen to Throwing Copper all the freakin time, loved it. I used to play songs from on my local rock bar jukebox, which given how tight I am with money, is saying something :) I then got Mental Jewelry I Think it was, which I didn't listen to so much, and when I stopped listening to CDs, for some bizarre reason forgot about them. Maybe I missed ripping it? Well thanks to a 14 year old Rom-Com starring a love interest from Scrubs, I've now a new number one on bands to get back into!
