To be fair, Lacuna Coil played at 10:30am. The crowd was a bit... sleepy. I know, I was there.

@@heimwehviewvideo3499 Well, to be perfectly honest, the crowd didn't really "wake up" until Blind Guardian took the stage. And when Savatage came on after them, the crowd was either too drunk or too tired. I know I was drunk, spending the whole afternoon drinking with Jon Oliva backstage. Anyway, that's another story... lol But yeah, Lacuna Coil gave a good show. Bonfire gave a great show (I sang with them - luckily it was omitted from the video AND the CD... The song was "Sword And Stone"), Cradle Of Filth I don't remember (I was drinking with Jon, watching Children Of Bodom on another stage, plus I almost got in a fight with Dani Filth - again, another story) Anyway, Wacken 1998 was a trip. Chatting with Piet Sielck from Iron Savior when he was changing his underwear between two cars just before going on stage was another funny moment... Ah, youth...

@@philouze1815 thank you for sharing this with us :-) Actually , obviously, I was there to , but I had 3 crews filming and recording audio at 3 stages , managing issues and egos 24/7... so I ve seen 10 minutes of every performance at the max but we tried getting it all on tape to preserve for eternity, the bands and the die hard fans... yes in those times we used analog beta cameras and ampex also analog for audio recording ... yeah it were great times those days when we were young Phil ;-)

Thank you for commenting Pablo. It s highly appreciated. Regarding your question about Savatage, as it s clearly a long time ago and I do not remember exactly, but the only reason bands not getting filmed was if the band, the bands manager or label did not want that since to be in the video they also needed to consent for publishing on the air , in that time , the musicchannels that aired metal music was , the only way promoting the music to a larger audience. But hey, those were other times and it needed big efforts to make for all involved.

Ic hgenieße es auch, dass noch nichtmal die skyclad Violinistin ne perfekte figur und costplay kostüm trug. Dieser ganze super optimierte dreck der jeweils nachahmungskanäle schaffen soll hat auch einfach die seele der ganzen sache getötet.
