Brilliant video, really appreciate the time taken to animate the test sequences as well. Helps to visualise what you’re doing so much better!

Yea passed 1st time mate 👍🏻 I’ll be honest, if your here looking up videos to pass then you’ll probably be one of the guys that will pass either 1st time or on a return attempt 👍🏻 good luck 🤞🏻

Hi very helpful video! I have my am2 coming up and just wanted to know at what stage do I carry out the phase rotation test at the main switch? The motor and commando are fine as they can be done with everything closed up and on but from what I've seen the test of the main supply seems to come after RCD and functional but by that stage you would have the board cover back on?
@headsup4sparkies4 ай бұрын
My understanding is that the phase sequence test is only carried out at the motor terminals as a functional test.

@headsup4sparkies thanks for the reply I did also have to do the phase sequence of the main supply. I passed the AM2 anyways

Hi nice vid but I noticed that the highest reading is PEFC 950.3 this one should be doubled and recorded not the PSCC am I right? THANKS
@headsup4sparkies7 ай бұрын
Hi … When testing between Line and Neutral (PSCC), the voltage potential is 230V .. we double this to allow for the PSCC between Line conductors as these would have a potential of 400V. The maximum potential to earth (PEFC) is 230 so therefore is not doubled. You only double the highest PSCC value.

Hi I am having a few issues on identifying the types of wiring and reference method on the Generic schedule of circuit details. Can help or advise please?
@headsup4sparkies Жыл бұрын
This can be simple - or complex, depending on the variety of methods employed on the route. You can select the most used method on the route / the method with most detrimental effect .. or so on. The inspector should use engineering judgement to decide … this link to IET - Supporting BS7671 Appendix 4 .. might help electrical.theiet.org/media/1617/appendix-4-of-bs-7671.pdf

helpful but surely that Zdb your say is Ze because the is the 3 phase dno supply? is zdb would be at 2nd or 3nd distribution circuit ? ASKING
@headsup4sparkies Жыл бұрын
Hi … If the board is at the origin of supply - then Zdb and Ze would be the same. Ze recorded on certificate and Zdb recorded on schedule of test results. If there is a sub main between the origin and the board under test .. then Zdb is measured at board with earth disconnected - and Ze from origin recorded on the certificate.
@headsup4sparkies Жыл бұрын
The distribution board at the origin supplying the sub main, would also record this supply’s Zs on on it’s own schedule of test results, taken in the same manner but with the earth connected.
@headsup4sparkies Жыл бұрын
The board in the video is assumed not to be at the origin of supply … Hope this helps 👍🏻
@Rossisearle Жыл бұрын
@@headsup4sparkies right... So like a three phase distribution circuit?
@headsup4sparkies Жыл бұрын
Yes … we call them “Sub-Mains” when we distribute the supplies from DNO to distribution boards… and the circuits from there are “final sub-circuits” supplying current using equipment without further distribution.
