When are we getting training video on the C6? Still sucks that C5 was discontinued right after this video 😢

My name is robert LaFollette I walked onto Speaker warehouse 2 weeks after they opened. Needless to say I found home. 5 total car installs, Manville, Joey , Carlos , Ken , Peppy, and the fabricator Who was a master cutter not debater. 34 yrs I had a fix for my need and they were top at the time.. 4th pair of M.B Quart sold and 4 8w1 not isobar. I had the most pathetic amps and an epicenter. What a time in life. Miss you all..I had 4 Quart tweeters in each door. The general manager of Sound Advice Helped me set up 3c Alpine up front and a nice 4 channel D class amp.Top tier. Toyota Avalon.. So much pleasure, for so many yrs... Gad bless

I've had a CP110-w0v3 on a JD500/1 in a 350z for almost a year and its easily my favorite sounding sub I've ever owned, no its not a lot of spl but in a small cabin that 10" can boom. This has me debating on a second 10" and upgrading the rest of the speakers in the car just not sure which one to pick.

I had an old set of VR 525 CS and loved the way they sounded. I'm curios yo find out if those are closer in sound quality to the C2 or C3? Or maybe even C5? What would you guys think would be a similar sound to the old VR series?
@JLAudioInc2 жыл бұрын
The VR share almost the same tweeter as the C5 series. They would be closest to the sound of the C5 with mids that are similar to the C2 series. A great, all around component set.

This is a great discussion on JL Audio. I’ve used JL Audio since the early 90’s when I had a Ford Probe that was loaded up with JL. Would love to win the Amp.

So far I got my c2 6x9 3ways to sound better than my c7 650s therefore I think my amp is not enough power to run the c7s I removed them and left the 6x9 until I can get my vxi and bridge 4 of the channels to run the 650s does anyone has a different idea? I’ll take it

I’d love a detailed discussion on the best practices on tunning with a dsp. Which crossover points and what type of crossovers to use in what situations. I have 6.5 C2 front stage no rear And a 10W3 all being pushed by a HD900/5 so anything in regards to how a DSP can improve that set up would be awesome.

JL's test engineer's probably got a good chuckle out of my 13TW5V2 which I had to get repaired/reconed by JL about 2 years ago... it had a melted cone and a snapped voice coil. It was ultimately due to the amp outputting a constant DC voltage, not misuse. Not sure I'll buy that competitor's amp again (and it is one of major ones.) Should have gone with a JL amp!

Unfortunately due to the events of last year we had to discontinue our C5 line, however we do have plans to replace the line in the near future.

Good information outlining your product lines. I wish you would have taken a deeper dive into the actual technology and design & electro-mechanical engineering that makes the C7 line superior. And I guess none of you understand the phase topic well enough to answer the viewer's question? That's a bit disappointing for an audio and speaker company. It'd be good idea to have Manville chime in on these every so often as well. I didn't see the exact question, but you guys should have at least touched on it a bit instead of completely brushing it off. And Yes, the ZR-800CW was an amazing midbass driver. I was also sad to see it be discontinued. IME, the reason it didn't sell as well as it should have was because of its mounting depth, large ferrite magnet, and a serious lack of public awareness through proper marketing on JL Audio's behalf. IMO the design and its resulting mounting depth should have been much more of a consideration at the beginning of the design process. Y'all had to realize up front that there would be a very limited application and market for such a deep driver that's also using a large, traditional ferrite motor. A slight compromise in performance and increase in cost may have been the wiser choice here in order to accommodate real-world usability. IDK and hindsight is of course is 20/20. However, you achieved this to some degree with the design of TW-series of shallow subwoofers, and there have been several large and even small, independent speaker manufacturers that have been able to design comparable 8" diameter drivers using a shallow/low-profile basket and compact neodymium motor. I realize there are cost considerations, but a driver that simply Will Not Fit, also Will Not sell AT ALL, as compared to a more expensive but still high-performance driver that WILL FIT in many more applications. Just my Opinion and real-world experience. ;) And YES, JL Audio needs to produce a mid-line 2.75"-3.5" midrange driver/coaxial to complete their lineup. The Audiofrog GS25 and the 2.75" wide-band & 3.5" coaxial from the Kenwood eXcelon KFC-XP6902C and KFC-XP6903C component sets respectively have been selling like hotcakes. I also have to say that the audio and picture quality of your live streams is much better than the earlier videos you guys produced, so kudos for that! 👍 However, Steve's audio level was significantly lower than Rob's and Kevin's here, and the dropouts were unfortunate as well. Crikey, it was a real PITA to have to closely monitor my own headphone levels and having to boost Steve's audio to understand him when he was speaking, and then quickly lower the levels when Rob or Kevin started talking again to avoid blown-out eardrums. :/ I know I sound like a Debbie Downer, but I really do appreciate JL Audio actually trying to create more of an interactive, Online, direct-to-customer and enthusiasts presence on KZbin. One thing that I'm curious to know, especially in regards to speaker & subwoofer components... Do you guys actually take the time to buy, install, test, and listen to any of your competitor's products in-house? (Not just relying on subjective feedback from your dealers)? Keep up the good work.

Can’t be number one looking at what number 2 did you got to make a C7 or 13w7! But they need a new sub and midrange and raw tweeter for spl only! They make some huge loud boat speakers just make those into raw drivers for cars and we will buy them like crazy but not for a $1000 a set! That way we can silence all the JL sucks crowds by blowing their ear drums out, which a few 13w7’s will do that now but would be better to have a new JL neo 18w8 super woofer and some loud speakers and tweeter that can keeps up! Bring them in with the spl keep them in with sound quality and reliability!

@@JLAudioInc most vehicles come with 6x9s in door and a midrange dash speaker. I had to get a set of kicker 6X9 component speakers with a mid range speaker for the dash and I added a three-quarter tweeter for the higher frequencies almost like a three-way set up but with a 6x9 woofer instead of a 6.5. The 6x9 puts out some Serious mid Bass

We all wish JL would build Some SPL products to! Custom Super woofers for us competitors, we need 5’ coils that can take 1000’s of watts and we need amps and battery’s capable of producing tons of clean power at real world levels, 13volts not HC! To dangerous! And I know there is a few JL builds into there but my job who can afford 6 13w7’s and 6 HD1200/1 and at that loud SQ goes out the window although I’m sure In still sounded good being 13w7’s just not very high score really! There weird that way mine if turned up will still your ear drum but in a DB scape it says it not as loud as my DC audio system in my other car but it sure sounds just as loud!
