I think if Nina can't make the 1/2 turn in mid-air she shouldn't even bother to put that skill in her routine

Yes, crossed the hands. She can do without the half.

she said she will change the routine for next year I think.

I think that it was too late for her to redo her routine and still meet her C.R. requirement for different grips. Because she catches in mixed grip for her attempt at the Ricna 1/2, she still gets something out of it. But she acknowledged after the final that she either needs to change her routine or change her technique to meet the new requirements.

@@notafrog4967 but it s important the value, not the skill itself, doesn t that?

A judge must be able to identify the element, not only its value. It is a good practice to just identify the Element and then associate them the value. Element’s values change over the time, so if you do It as you say, you may lose the habit of identifying the elements itself, leading to a posible mistake at valuing them… Also, this way is more cleanly and organized on paper

@@Marketoromagnolo but then how will they calculate the difficulty score?? judges don’t have perfect memory and they aren’t allowed to rewatch the routine so how will they know how to calculate the D score?? if they just wrote the letter than they wouldn’t be able to calculate the difficulty because the difficulty score isn’t just the top 8 elements of the routine make the final score you have to take into account the CR and CV and also you can’t count too many elements from the same family or whatever. how are they meant to know if they have fulfilled all the CR it’s not reliable to just use theyre memory particular jot having replays to rewatch the routine! they need to make sure they had a piro element with min 1/1 turn, a single bar release, high to low transition different grip for the CRs on uneven bars and just using the letters wouldn’t tell you if they’ve full filled those requirements because the judges aren’t fucking genius who can like remember everything. also even they did remember if they fulfilled the requirements how will they know if just because they didn’t the requirement doesn’t mean it would get the requirement e.i. stalder (C) + maloney (D) + pak (D) + van leeuwen (E) and then in high bar toe on 1/1 the toe on 1/1 would fulfil the requirement but if they where to do toe on (C) + maloney (D) + pak (D) + van leeuwen (E) and then in high bar toe on 1/1 the toe on 1/1 wouldn’t fulfil the 1/1 piro requirement or whatever because you can’t count more than 3 skills from the same root entry (toe on, stalder, hip circle etc.) so even if the judges where to use their superpowers to remember if they did the thing for the requirement they’d also need to keep track of the entries and stuff their doing to fulfil the CRs which it would be easier to have the skills layed out in front of you to tell also the toe on 1/1 wouldn’t get valued either or whatever so like depending on what the routine construction you might have to count a C skill (toe on) over a D skill (toe on 1/1) because you can’t count more than 3 skills from the same root entry in chronological order only but it would make it harder for judges to do the calculations of the score if they needed to remember what skills they did so they know what to count. it would be easier if they had to routine in front of them instead of just the values for skills. you also have CV, judges are human too and their memory isn’t perfect. if you use just the letters calculating the value would be a lite harder coz you’d have to use your memory of what skill they did e.i. if you just had D+D it could either be 0cv 0.1cv or 0.2cv depending on what elements they are like inbar (D) + chow (D) would receive 0.0 in cv because the inbar (D) element didn’t have min 1/2 turn or was a realise skill so it wasn’t eligible for the cv (C/D skills w/o half turn or being a release element aren’t eligible for cv) if someone where to do maloney (D) + pak (D) it would receive 0.1cv because both are flight but if it where to be the inbar (D) + maloney (D) combo and they where to both look like D+D you wouldn’t be able to tell them apart and give value to how much cv they get another example would be maloney (D) + uprise clear hip 1/1 (D) while it would look like D+D it would receive 0.2 cv not 0.0cv or 0.1cv like other D+D combos and it would be hard to tell how much cv it would receive if you just got the element values. you just can’t tell how much cv it would receive if you just had the value and didn’t know what skills they where doing. another example if you just had the values healy (E) + ling (E) cv0.1 would look the same as inbar 1/1 (E) + komova 2 (E) cv0.2 if you just had E+E you’d have to sue your memory on what skills they competed to make sure you give the right amount of CV for the combo if you just had the values for the elements judges wouldn’t be able to tell how much cv to give if they didn’t know what skills they where performing and just had the value. gymnastics judging is a lot more complicated than just you do flips and the judges give you a score out of 10 based on vibes like a talent show or smth theres alot that goes on in gymnastics and it is a very complex sport where it’s not just i’ll give that skill that many points or whatever for like funsies and stuff. and also all of this applies to all apparatus they are all complicated and stuff there is method to the madness it’s all for a reasons :))
