UK's newly-elected Prime Minister Keir Starmer gives a statement before flying to NATO summit. The summit will be held in Washington, DC from July 9 to July 11, marking 75 years since the alliance’s inception in 1949. This would be Starmer's first big summit since being elected as UK prime minister. Russia-Ukraine war will be the major agenda of the summit. NATO’s secretary general, Jens Stoltenberg said that the summit will focus on three primary areas, enhancing defence and deterrence, supporting Kyiv’s defence efforts, and reinforcing global partnerships.
