9/30/20...Update/ After this post I heard frm this Dealer. Seltos on this model was not the Led/Package SUV. My friend just bought the Seltos in US. His led blinkers are where the headlights are. Headlights are were the blinkers are and are the vertical square type. Certainly different from this Canadian model. Blinkers have 3-led cubes with another led shaped like a c or were straight led lines (forgot) but really neat. Seats are great & I liked better than my old 2014 Rav4 we both once owned. I like cars that have Led Designs built in, Seltos is a cool suv to buy.

Yes, there are two different "faces" to the Seltos. One has LED lighting, and one has the typical Halogen headlights. It depends on trim as to which set up you get.

Brantford Kia I find my 2017 sportage falls really short in the headlights department- they were fine in the city- but i now live in a dark country town with no streetlamps. I’m in the US- getting the seltos EX- will the headlamps be brighter than the sportage??

I love my 2019 Sportage EX. The panaramic roof is awesome! I also really like the integrated entertainment display. I don't like it sticking up like an after thought in the Seltos. For me, the Sportage looks better.

I'll go with the Sportage as the engine is 2.4 Ltr. GDI which have more HP and TORQUE. I don't care about the difference in the installed standard factory accessories/add-ons. I have a 2019 Sportage LX AWD and before deciding to purchase that model, I compared it with a 2019 Hyundai Tucson Preferred AWD.

Fuel consumption can be found at www.kia.ca As far as me recommending the Sportage or the Seltos, it really depends on what matters most to you. What's right for me, may not be right for you, so it's very difficult for me to recommend a vehicle for someone when I don't know what features mean the most to you.

Haha. I'll tell them, but we don't have a lot of influence over future designs. There have been times where we've been asked our opinions on what features should be included in future models, but even then, we understand that our opinions don't hold a lot of weight.

Im 6'4, Fit in Sportage LX, but don't fit in Ex or above. Lots of Headroom in Seltos LX, haven't tried Seltos EX on yet.

Interesting. In general, I find all the Seltos models to be very good for headroom. The sunroof does change the roofline, so it may play a role, but like I said, the Seltos feels very spacious to me.

Brantford Kia, it’s interesting to see the differences between the different trim levels on all brands. Some brands, a manual seat changes if I fit in car or not. Nisssn rogue, I fit in the Sv and above models. Honda CR-V, fit in manual seat model, but don’t fit in the crv with powered seats. Selto EX is on our short list, if I fit :-). Not till August though;-(

Traditionally the moonroof would take away a little bit of headroom in the areas just around the moonroof but of course, near the glass you would have more. It would depend on where your head sits based on where you have the angle of the seat and how long your legs are. We're talking about taking a Seltos back into the live video bay this week, so in the next day or so we'll try to address your question as it relates to the Seltos. I hope that helps!

On the LX S trim and above, you do get blind spot warning. The LX S trim is new for 2020.

The Seltos has a 50 litre tank and gets better mileage. The Sportage has a 62 litre tank.

The Bose sound system on the Seltos is excellent. The Harman/Kardon system in the Sportage is also very good. So if sound quality is a number 1 priority, both of those systems are something to consider.

How high speed? What does safety mean to you? That's a tough question that I'm not sure how to answer. If you mean which one will keep you most alive if you hit a wall, that's one type of safety. If you want lane follow assist, that's only available on the Seltos, so that's another type of safety. Both feel stable at speed, and I would say if you're looking to buy either one, you should see which other features are ones that you prefer. I don't think you'll be disappointed in either vehicle at any legal speeds or just beyond. If you're talking about tracking a car, the Stinger and Forte GT or Forte5 GT are the best cars that we have at high speeds.

I'm pretty sure it's more complicated, and likely more expensive than to just buy the trim with the LED lights.

The Sportage is probably just a little bit more roomy in the rear seat, but both are very comfortable for my 6 foot frame.

Hey Peter, Any idea when the KIA Seltos at night video will be coming? :) Also are there any concerns on the DCT with the SX model for reliability and longevity? Is it fully covered under the various warranties? I'm extremely close to deciding between the Seltos SX and a RAV4 SE. It's keeping me up at night!! haha.

I have never seen a DCT have any problems here at our dealership. The DCT in the Seltos is an updated version, and to be very honest, I'm not worried about either transmission at all. The Seltos at night video has been put on hold simply because I want to take an SX model home to do that, but we haven't had an SX model that isn't sold before it arrives yet. As soon as we have an SX in stock again, I'll get it in for a Live video, and then I'll take it home and do a complete "at night" video. I tend to want the top of the line vehicles for these because if there ARE any unique pieces to the lighting, those cars will have them.

Which can hold 3 car seats? One infant and two boosters?

I believe the Sportage has a little more width, although you'd want to make throw them in to be sure. Booster seats can really vary in width, so sometimes just choosing the right combination of seats could work. My Soul could fit a centre child seat with the small booster seats that my kids use, but my kids have booster seats that are pretty small.

Kia Canada tells us that the Seltos is not rated to tow. That's the only answer that I can give when it comes to a question about a vehicle that has no tow rating.

Great question, and one that we don't have an answer for yet. I have been told not to expect a hybrid option on this generation of Seltos. The Sportage is nearing the end of this body style, so an all new model would already be in the works, but we don't have any information on the next generation Sportage yet. The current Sportage will not offer a hybrid option. Having said all that, we do know that a huge number of Kia vehicles are under development with some level of electrification. So we can expect to see more and more of those in the future.

Haha! Yeah, take them both for a test drive. Sometimes you'll know the instant that you sit in a car which one is right for you, but even so, take time to adjust the seat, make sure that, if you're uncomfortable, that it's not something that can be easily fixed, and then see which one you like. If they both have their pros and cons for you, then you have to decide what really matters to you most. In the case of these two vehicles, I think you'll be happy with either one, they're both really good vehicles.

So the NEXT generation of the Kia Sportage in Canada, will likely be called a 2023 model, but if I were to guess, I would assume it will show up in the spring of 2022. I'll also be covering the all-new Hyundai Tucson on this channel as it's introduced. The Tucson will be based on the same basic platform as the next-generation Sportage.

There isn't any upgrade from Kia that would allow you to do this. I imagine that trying to piece things together would be much more expensive than just buying the higher trim and living with the other upgrades.

The SX Turbo is a very different car, and also it comes in at a pricepoint that the Seltos does not compete in. I like your car quite a bit!

The headroom only varies between the sunroof model and the non-sunroof model, but I would expect that you would fit. We have some bigger people here who were very comfortable in the Seltos.
