Oh my … I was sitting watching this video and was stitching the same thing as you. I had tried to stitch in hand doing the pink center, but I frogged it all our because I thought it looked awful! I had first used a six inch Q snap, but really didn’t like that. So on February I changed to a six inch tension hoop. I never thought to try and stitch in hand using the hoop. It worked amazing and stitches looked much better than when I tried the center square in hand. Amazing! Thank you so much! I am in northern IN waiting on a big snow storm the next two days. 10-20 inches! We are at the grands home so the littles are fun! Hoping on stitching tomorrow!

I also love the cross stitch calculator. It is the best. I am a beginner and wish this pattern was a stand alone as I tried to make a copy and tape it together and it is not showing the different colors that well. I understand it is already in the pattern. But I would buy the stand alone pattern as well.

Thank you, Kimberly, I enjoyed watching you stitch while I worked on the Designer Mystery BOM. I love watching true crime too!! The most surprising one that I have watched was out of Austin. That was about a woman who just had a baby that they both disappeared. Thanks for everything, looking forward to tomorrow’s video!

Being new to Cross Stitch I bought a pattern from a local store after watching all the designs Kimberly presented in a prior KZbin. It was taking me forever to even get a little bit done. Boy am I glad I watched this video, no wonder I was doing it all wrong. Thanks for all you show everyone! Got my supplies in for Barn Sweet Barn, so I am now excited about getting started. Hopefully I will complete in a timely matter and be ready for the next one.

Enjoyed your video! I've been cross stitching for 30+ years. I started out stitching in hand, but as I got older I found that stitching on roller frames, with a lap or floor stand, was a lot easier and faster. When using a stand, you can stitch with two hands (one in front and one in back) making the stitching go faster. I still use embroidery hoops (I also do embroidery projects). I usually take the project out of the hoop when I'm done for the day or at least loosen the screw. It is sometimes hard to remove the circle rings in the fabric.

Thank you, Kimberly, for your wonderful videos. I'm a HUGE fan of True Crime also! Discovery+, Oxygen and ID channels, HLN Forensic Files, Dateline, 48 Hours, 20/20. I've been watching Snapped for years and years now! That's what I watch while stitching. I'm stitching the Feb. Barn Sweet Barn now, and I'm going to try this sewing method. My current style is to do one cross stitch at a time.

I found Needle Minders very helpful. Some of the bigger ones are heavy on the fabric. So, I put the larger, heavier ones on my pattern, that is on a stand. Love needle minders' choices; they are very colorful!!!

Thanks for doing a video on 10 count! I did Hey Pumpkin on 10 count (my first try with 10 count) and it drove me crazy because I couldn't get my stitches to lay very nice. I feel like it's my worst piece. I'm glad to know it's not just me, and that it's just the nature of that fabric. I might try it again with a hoop to see if I get better results. I appreciate all the videos and tips you provide for us!

I think I see how you do the fast stitching. Interesting. If I use a 14 Aida cloth and only need 2 strands can I thread the needle like this with the loop? I really need to watch more of your videos.

Hi can you help me better understand the tip Kimberly shared about fixing a wonky looking stitch? So do use two pieces of thread in your needle but no loop? And do you come up in the bottom left hole and go down in the bottom right hole of the stitch ? Couldn’t see exactly?
@FatQuarterShopFlossTube2 жыл бұрын
Hello GIL3969! You can use a loop if you'd prefer but it is not required. Just come up through back in one hole, go back down in same hole through front and then pull your stitches straight.

I am a new subscriber to your channel and I am waiting for my Barn Sweet Barn pattern to come in the mail to get started with you guys. I have watched a lot of your videos and just watched this one above about the Barn Sweet Barn. I am curious ... What do you put under the cross stitch when it is finished to keep it in place and also what did you use to put the fabric around the backing of the cross stitch piece before putting it on your farmhouse? I hope that is making sense. I've been looking for a video to show that process but have not had any luck. Thanks for answering my question and I am truly enjoying your channel. 😀

It appears that you are going vertical in the holes - or am I missing something. The stitching is too small for me to see if there is a cross stitch X. Maybe I need to go back and re-watch the university. Is this because it is 10 Aida?
