Yoshi also said that soon they will be adding a gil buy system to change the interior size of the house. So you can have a large interior on a small and vice versa etc. Expensive to change the interior size but will be a massive deal, assuming obviously the item limit is directly linked to the interior size - as I imagine it will be.

Gonna play throne and liberty instead and take a long break from ff14 for a bit. Dawntrail just isn’t scratching that same itch from the past expansions msq wise. Dungeons and trials/raids on the other hand, have been top tier.

Exciting update, but…. Why is nobody mentioning the incredibly restrictive glamour dressers any more? I can glam all equipment I ever owned in guildwars and other MMOs. It is soooo tiring I have to decide constantly what to throw out. I was really hoping this would be addressed some day…

Unfortunately due to how they developed the item system back at the launch of Realm Reborn (when they basically scrambled to rebuild the game from the ground up) items actually take up a sizeable amount of space of the servers which is why they need to limit what players can have. They probably do want to fix this but the effort required would be massive with them having to recode the entire item system and ensure no players lose any items when they make the switch. It's not that people don't want to talk about it, we just understand that it's a painful limitation that the devs themselves have to deal with and is probably the biggest regret they have from rebuilding the game for Realm Reborn.

So many people dress up, and lots of people grind or pay money for equipment because of how it looks and not even for the stats...

@@sairentoeko I’ve felt that way as well. 14 is one of my favorite games but I’m not a blind fan boy, expansions take longer patches take longer and come with less content. They refuse to innovate as well it’s the same formula , just now reusing trials/ARs as “new” unreal/chaotic.

@@BaithNa apparently its not about server space so much as it is that every player always has their entire glamour dresser loaded on them in a zone, so the server's rendering all that information per player per instance, and the 10 year old crunchtime code from 2.0 and 1.0 networking code can't handle it. Square's too busy funding a complete 3d remake of Romancing Saga 2 to greenlight quality of life fixes.

They remade the entire thing from scratch while saying they're too cash poor to tinker much with the FF14 code, even though its their main single profit source for 10 years. Seriously, how many copies of Just Another Curious Garden Life did they sell? Or how many mobile and other gacha games did they crash last year alone, again?

I like the game but damn, that Live Letter felt rushed as hell and didn't really instill much confidence in many after the MSQ for Dawntrail. I felt like the strangest updates were to Mahjong. Why that and why now? If it was like every expansion they updated it, I'd understand, but why only now? The raid content is definitely cool, I ran Pantheon in Destiny 2 so a new boss only mode in FFXIV is nice to see but hopefully the rewards are worthwhile too or else it'll become another piece of dead content like V&C Dungeons. As for the release date. Why so late? Like I get development time and all but the community is utterly demoralized at the moment and the current content drought is really hitting hard this time around. I dunno, I'm just fearful about this game becoming another New Genesis. Like that Mahjong uupdate felt like it was cherrypicked because I don't know anybody who plays that mode in this game, same with Rival Wings (which also felt odd to see)

@@DesperiusFFXIV yeah, but we're waiting a minimum of 4 more months for that. it's like, $40+ for content that doesn't appeal to more than 9% of the game's population. I know raiders will just be like "just unsub," but the game is home and a place to interact with friends we met here. So we have to be forced to leave or have nothing to do because of a tired budgetary placation to an esports community that doesn't have any esports money behind it.

@@ZechsMerquise73 There's plenty to do for non-raiders, but if you're so skilled that you already completed all the non-raiding content then you're welcome to take a break and come back once the content appeals to you. Taking a break also makes returning more exciting! I'm not saying this offensively, this is a constructive way to communicate that you're not satisfied with the game so you unsub. I've been playing other games in the meantime, there's a lot of really cool games out there.

What does skill have to do with beating the non-existent non-raid content? You need skill to finish the Endwalker beast tribe quests? Max out all the crafting and gathering professions? Because there is no non-raid content in 7.0. What? The only thing to do when you aren't playing through old content with new players you know is old content with people you don't in roulettes. That's the only content offered to people who don't want to schedule a day out of their week to be shreiked at by strangers who are 10+ year veterans at an extremely eclectic skill that the game itself does not teach. Come on with this toxic positive of "if you're so skilled that you already completed all the non-raiding content then you're welcome to take a break."

Seriously. WoW has a revitalizing PvP scene with multiple venues, scalable proceedural dungeons, raiding at very diverse skill levels, satisfying open world content, competitive dungeon content. FF14's lineup just has a bunch of content that's hard to find anyone willing to do it who isn't already an overbearing expert in it on day one ( content that is unplayable if you play it and follow TOS, since it's heavily based around banned DPS meters), some ultra-easy alliance raid content that you'll never want to do again after three weeks, and some horse-beating pve weekly quest content. I just want FF14 to be great, but Enix seems to be deliberately driving us away on all fronts. Maybe they want to kill FF14 so they have more liquid assets to 2.5D chibi remaster more old games nobody asked for.

FF14 actually has a lot more replayability than WoW if you want to do old content -- in WoW it might not even be possible in several cases. That's why they have classic servers for different expansions, so you can actually experience the old content decently.

I've unsubbed and moved on to WOW and GW2, but I still want to express my negativity. 14 through Endwalker is my favorite game of all time so my hope is that in expressing my disappointment in Dawntrail and the direction of the game I can generate positive change that will make me want to come back.
