This is video #4 in my Cinematic Improv Series, where I improvise, experiment and live loop cinematic pieces in the moment after hitting "record".
This one features no fancy exotic instruments or extensive looping, but is all about simplicity. I wanted to limit myself to see what kind of arrangement I can get out of just one simple piano pattern, and a minimal, 3 chord progression.
It's a lot of fun to do these videos, as I have no clue what's gonna come out when I hit record. I am just as much a listener of what's unfolding, as I am the person performing - as there is a very blurred line between the two.
What emotions to you feel being evoked in this one?

Listening back, I'm kinda getting the feeling of looking into nature on a car drive on a rainy, gloomy day, just in awe of the vast variety of life forms that exists out there. Let me know what you hear!

I hear beauty and regret. It makes me feel like a kid who lost some of his favorite Legos on his birthday but got new sets that were also awesome. And suddenly I fell asleep... Great piece I love how music can bring out a different story in everyone.

I hear peace, but the peace is full of sorrow and anxiety at first. Then, the anxiety lifts with the next theme, being replaced with hope, pulling oneself from their knees...slowly at first, but moving forward, nonetheless. They take a deep breath and another step, look up, smile, and begin to walk. Tears...streaming down their face as they leave behind the chaos (whatever that may be), knowing that as much as it hurts, they move forward, full of pain, yet the pain is so powerful that it motivates them to continue, to assure to never feel it again. Then, suddenly, the peace takes over, completely blanketing. Tears dry...another breath, another sigh...relief...

OK. Listened to it all, stunning. What did I feel.... I pictured myself in the most picturesque nature scene, lit by the sun which makes the dead grasses light up golden, the sparkles from a waterfall dance as it flows, colourful flowers gently swaying in the breeze. The sun then starts to set and makes everything look even more beautiful, the few clouds are filled with reds, orange and gold. The ripples on the lake bend the reflection of the beautiful sky in a delicate fashion so as to not spoil it at all. It then disappears in a flash as the music ended so abruptly lol.

I agree, this one defiantly invokes that sense of awe and wonder as to what life could lie not only on earth, but in the universe. I personally can imagine listening to this laying down while staring at the stars and distant planets on a cool night just admiring the scope of our universe.

I wish people who have forgotten you over the past few years would come back here and witness your talent again. What you do helps me in getting relaxed and inspired, but I think it's a shame that you are not getting as much attention as you used to. I hope more and more people will come here, because I think your craft, workflow and the stories you share with us (I'm talking mostly about your Facebook posts) are beautiful and help us in some way. You are doing a great job, Arn, and I think you deserve more, so keep doing what you love and continue to grow!

I don't know why but watching this feels much better than watching an orchestra performance in a hall. Great job for a wonderful masterpiece, Arn Andersson!

While listening to this it just happened to be raining outside. It matches the music perfectly- slow and not quite happy or sad, perhaps bittersweet. The frolicking piano melody toward the halfway point slowly encourages a more positive vibe. Superb, like everything you ever post!

That is soooo awesome!! The perfect background music for the main scene in my newest novel. Your track "Annihilated" was a wonderful "companion" in my last novel and "Farewell Life" supported me during my first novel. Thanks, mate, I love your music! Thanks for sharing your work with us!
