First loop jam with this thing! So far the only way I've been able to stay reasonably in tune while looping is by using a drone note ringing in the background like this. Even with that, it's a huge challenge!
If you want to know more about this guitar check out the description and comments from my last video :)
Cheers!

Love the jam, the tone and the instrument. One thing, which you might already know, You should use classical vibrato with a fretless instrument. You will get better tone, intonation and you won't mark up the fretboard. I would love to see more of this Baritone (pics, info). Thanks-dre

Sounds great! Check out some fretless bass players vibrato technique, an up/down movement tends to be more effective and expressive than a side-to-side movement when there are no frets
@frmadeira
@frmadeira 5 жыл бұрын
Fretless players do use a side movement vibrato, it's an emulation of what you see classical string players do and it's done on a wider movement than you would attempt on a fretted instrument. Using a vertical movement in fretted instruments usually results in dampening of the string and not enough pitch change, which is logical considering the increase of existent friction.
@BenjaminLongman
@BenjaminLongman 5 жыл бұрын
@@frmadeira I think we're talking about the same thing but using the opposite terms! I'm thinking 'up/down' because you're raising and lowering the note, but it is a side-to-side movement I guess

I’m wondering how useful side dots would be on a multi scale neck. I play fretless bass, but I can’t really conceive of how to do it on the multi scale. It’s quite a challenge, but you’re nailing it.

SInce the nut is a bit tilted, does it have the fanned fretboard geometry even if fretless?
@tombola1990
@tombola1990 5 жыл бұрын
Actually yes because fanned guitars have different scalelenghts at the top and bottom strings, which is why the frets are tilted

If you're talking about the fanned fretless feature on a baritone it doesn't seem like it. Most fanned fretless instruments are bass guitars for some reason. I bet you'd have to get a custom made one like this and of course that will go up into the thousands.
