With the Feeder Masters Super League final round and the Angling Trust Feeder National Championship both taking place on the river Trent we made it our mission to spend loads of time learning what we could about the river. This video documents our progress through that 3 week period on Recce sessions and the open matches all around Newark!

great video that's where I learned to fish we used to ride up and down this stretch on match days on our bikes looking for a spare peg there used to be three to four busses of anglers from around the country to fish the golden mile as it was known Some anglers looked at their pegs didn't bother setting up so we were in good luck in the final Jamie

Very rare I see you young anglers standing up in the rivers fishing these days. Always sitting on your arse's fishing. Have a little chuckle tho how you give exact meters your fishing across the river. Whatever happened to old school fishing and giving out tackle description without getting technical and promoting equipment. Trent is my old fishing ground, love it.

Another great video Jamie, thank you. Could you tell me what soil you use for chopped worm and caster feeder? Is it black peat, terre de riviere, garden soil or a combination?. just wondered which would be the best to try on that method?

I have never heard of this type of fishing until 2 weeks ago. I 99.99% lure fish in the U.S., so this is very different. I've been watching alot of vids on this and I've learned alot about this type of fishing, mostly from your videos. I have some questions though. Are you saying end peg or M peg and why is that peg advantageous? On one of your vid, someone to your right caught a trout and you said it wouldn't count, so is it just bottom feeders that count for this type of fishing competition?

Hi Gerald, yes in our match fishing trout don't count and yes end pegs are quite often a big advantage unfortunately :(

Disappointing to see the Barbel being lifted straight out of the water once netted........I'd hope they weren't put in a keepnet also.
