Hey folks! Thanks for coming down to the comments. I wanted to take a moment (and I hope you'll share this moment) to let you know I also do original music to. There's a few ways to listen to it: here on KZbin (just check my channel for my "The Nephilim Novel" uploads), or better yet you can listen to it (and buy it) from my bandcamp at nephilimnovel.bandcamp.com (Believe is the album you're looking for.)...alternatively, you can also find it on Spotify (and many other streaming platforms)...but using those platforms don't support me. I'll likely never seen a dime from any music streamed, so it's better to watch it on KZbin or listen to it on Bandcamp. Give it a try :) You'll make my day!

I've gotten a surprising number of supportive comments. This is my second channel and don't often check this channel, so it always surprises me to see so many notifications. So I hope you don't mind a little copy-paste since it would take a long time to comment individually on all of them? I really do appreciate the support. I also do original music too, and it would mean a lot if you took a little bit of time out of your day to give it a listen. Some of the songs from my album have been uploaded to this channel (it's hard to pick a favorite, but if you put a gun to my head I'd have to say the track "Bless" is my favorite). I remember when I was sleeping over at my neighbro's house and his mom told us to go to sleep and we "went to bed", waited a bit, and continued playing the game until late at night, when at some point she came back to the room and scolded us and sent us to sleep for good. I fell asleep with my mind filled with the music from our video gaming binge. Those were the days.

This was one of my favourite games growing up as a kid. the soundtrack was great, finding all the hidden gems and bombs in the levels was fun as heck. Great sound track and great mix with wonderful transitions as well.

Thank you so much! This was a fun side project I worked on to take my mind off the album I was busy making at the same time. If you like this music then...well, my music isn't anything like this. But I would be so grateful if your gave my music a try anyways. It's heavy like metal, but electronic like EDM. And if you like artsy-fartsy stuff, there's plenty of musical motifs and lyrics to dissect and examine. And it's okay if you don't like it! 😀 It's a tough genre to appreciate. But like I said, I will just be grateful that you gave it a chance to see if it's something you like. The individual songs have been uploaded to this channel. But if you want to watch the full 34 minute lyric video uninterrupted, it's been posted on my main channel. Just KZbin search "The Nephilim Novel - Believe". There were a couple of unnamed tracks in the OST package I downloaded when compiling this setlist. It's been a long time since I downloaded and compiled these tracks, so I don't recall exactly which tracks it was that were unnamed, but those that were unnamed I just gave a name that I felt matched the format Jun Chikuma had given to other names. Out of curiosity, how did you know the kicks were missing? Was it a case that they're part of the game's arrangements but just not played by the game or something?
@lighierisadventureblogsand3203 Жыл бұрын
The attack (top end) of the kick is present in the original song, but most of the body of the kick was absent. While this may have been a deliberate stylistic choice, it seemed odd, especially when there is an overly bassy sub-bass riff present in a few tracks. (or perhaps that's why it was deliberate? They didn't want any phase cancellation to happen between the kick and the bass. 🤔)

I feel like remaster is not the right term as is still used compressed samples, it has a lot more reverb which makes the samples sound more rich i suppose but i feel like that makes the compressed samples sound even worse, it feels like i'm listening the song trough someone elses headphones via audiobleed. Unfortunately bc a lot of effort was obviously put into this but tracking down the original samples and workstations is probably impossible by now.
@LongSinceDead12 жыл бұрын

fix the bass on this, it sounds like it is borderline clipping.
@lighierisadventureblogsand32032 жыл бұрын
Borderline clipping isn't clipping. I think it's just a matter of preference on mixing. There's no right answer. You're welcome to improve on my work, either by downloading the files and EQing them yourself, or you can always just download the original OST and do what I did too :) Wanted to make an edit to this. If I remember correctly, the download package includes all the information you need to do exactly what I did, including the kick drum MIDI and BPM information. So definitely give it a try if you want to improve on my work!
