When news items are planted as success stories now, the heart bleeds on the very thought of the systematic way the govt, hrce officials, influential trustees going upto supreme court to nullify madras high court orders. Beyond personal anathema atleast now, the govt has to find out the reasons and causes of the present state of affairs and embark on restating the objectives of HRCE, archeology epigraphy/state archives, idol wing CID etc. Good practices in Andhra, Telengana, Karnataka and Kerala can be mimicked. Importantly departmental / individuals role and responsibility have to be fixed. Madras high court's 75 suggestions can be brought into effect. Temple lands as per 1947 record to be treated as equivalent to panchami lands and all alienations to be analysed, explained and further action to be taken. The public whose religions' properties are in govt control should support such parties which are really protecting their interest. J.Krishnamohan
