Josh Brolin was recently on the Graham Norton show where he discussed No Country for Old Men. He said no one expected the movie to do well and thought it was “weird”. He also said Javier was super self-conscious of his wig

The men with the machine guns in the hotel are also tracking the briefcase tracker trying to recover the money. They're from the same group who eventually kills Moss. For me, the movie (and the title) is about the enormous escalation that the war on drugs brought to law enforcement and how it's no place to be an old man in a post-drug-war America. Fun fact: Woody Harrelson's dad was a contract killer at the time of the story and is referenced in McCarth's novel. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Harrelson Edit: If this movie doesn't get 5 stars, what does?!??!

Brolin, the coens and others on the set of NCFOM have been cited as saying they would see/ hear EXPLOSIONS and other oddities happening from miles over.. and clearly they were in the middle of a proverbial "nowheresville" if you will.. so they would often be confused as to what exactly was happening.. only to find out it was in fact TWBB in the middle of production. Pretty cool .. especially knowing how often these two movies get confused for each other.

I've come across the trailer for NCfOM - but to watch it as i,t felt pretty Western and heavy, violent laced drama! *But* you just pointed out a cast that's so, uhm rugged, that explains where that energy came from too! Happy it's of brilliant standard and worth watching!

Isn't it worth discussing Tyler Perry as a potentially closeted version of a director in the old style Hollywood where so much of the artist has to be sublimated? I know this was considered rude and presumptuous to out someone who wasn't ready. But when it's someone with this much power and reach ...is it worth at least addressing?

I love this movie, and it is one of my favorites! I love Javier Barden in this film; he's so good. Tyler Perry and Ryan Murphy are not the same. Ryan Murphy is more willing to help underrepresented filmmakers; he created the program Half Initiative, where filmmakers from underrepresented communities can apply to shadow a director or producer during one of his productions. I almost got into the program when he had a production in New York, and they were doing a cohort here, but then the pandemic happened, and they couldn't shoot here, and all my hopes and dreams came crashing down, lol. I've never heard of Tyler creating anything to help anyone but himself. If he has, please correct me and let me know, but I've never heard of Tyler Perry doing anything like the program Ryan created.

Joel spent 9 months in Austin attending UT graduate film program-followed his first wife there. I really believe he got a real feel for the Texas culture and people. I think it had a huge influence on one of my favorites and their debut film-Blood Simple. Filmed in Austin. E Emmet Walsh is epic-“But what I know is Texas. And down here-yer on yer own.” The sense of dread in that film!! Yikes!!!

I love this movie along with There Will Be Blood. Another one in a similar vein but isn't as brutal is Hell Or High Water with Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, and Ben Foster. I really enjoyed that as well. As far as XMAS movies go The Ref is pretty disfunctional and hilarious. Thanks for the review.

I swear to god guys, as soon as soon as you brought up the storekeeper(s), those were the scenes that popped in mine. Question though: didn't anton cheat on that coin toss at least twice? Plus he didn't leave with the $$$$$$ at the end? Plus, if he was so known as such a crazy killer, why would they even hire him? My impression was that the money belonged to either a cartel or the mob.❤😂🎉

I believe people with Apple phones will have a pop up notification that there is an active device (air tag) near them after 10-15min but I have Android so 👀 When Javier checks his boots for blood you know he killed her 😢 Girl could have had a 50/50 chance if she played the game. Not bad odds when dealing with a psychopath. Do a poll for movies with evil children? I ❤ The Good Son. There's also: The Bad Seed. Village of the Damned The Prodigy Brightburn Fargo the series is sooo good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I've still need to watch season 4. Highly recommend Barry as well. Dark humor. Each season gets darker. One of the wildest episodes of television I've ever seen Ronny/Lilly 🤯😂😅😆

I LOVE ya’lls (Joseph’s) sense of humor and that you don’t worry about offending anybody - cuz you just KNOW someone, somewhere is gonna take offense. I think it’s that ‘they’ want to. They’re Looking for something to be pissed about. “Seek & ye shall find”, my mama used to always say! It’s how they take out aggression. I just fluently use the F word! If my 11 month old grandbaby is around I’ve started saying ‘flipping’ (and son of a biscuit eater, occasionally) cuz I had to start practicing or her first word was gonna be 🤫 ‘fuck’.
