Hello from Arizona. I’ll be at that Tucson rock and gem show, but unfortunately I think black opal direct will be at the wholesale show. Which means you have to have trade credentials to enter. No public entry or hobbyists. Which makes me sad because I was really looking forward to possibly picking up some specimens.

hey can opal have gray and black play of color as in no actual color but an actual play of color black and gray. im asking because i have one im calling it ghost opal. it is literally a play of color that is black and gray

@blackopaldirect can i send it to you for you to take a look? in fact i will gift it to you and if you find it is not an actual play of color than just toss it in the road but if it is i want it to go to your private collection and you must agree to cut it on a video oh and you may not say who it is from. if it is not really a play of color than you will have lost maybe 5 minutes of your time. it did come from lightning ridge according to the person that sold it to me 5 years ago as a potch nobie half kilo parcel. i just cut for fun well not really cut more like i play with the stones to see what i can do(no talent here but its fun) i came across thisone and im not sure what to think of it because the gray and black disappears and change shape depending on the angle and it looks like a play of color like you see from the other colors but the only color on the entire stone is gray and black and it looks like a dark river. i am hoping to hear back about this stone as i am confused of what i am looking at. you probably seen it i am probably just misinformed but hey it might be worth a look and maybe a video explanation as to what's going on? let me know if you are interested in taking a look at it and i will mail it to you.
