It's great you're trying different things this year. You try them to see if you like doing things that way. If you don't, you stop! These shows where you chat with us are great fun. Thank you! ⚘

Nice closeup!!! Thank you very much!!! Your stitching is so even and tidy. When I sew-stitch, everything is so untidy. I can't get the tension down yet. Anyway, thanks for everything you share. Much appreciated.

I have found a needle that has a large eye and comes from my home town in Costa Mesa, CA. It's a 26 size tapestry needle, for cross stitch from Piecemakers. I know it's not a big name brand, but I think you might like it Kimberly.

I agree with you Kimberly. Parents today are so competitive and look down their nose at those who have lives elsewhere. They are all about the competition and how they look to others. As the Irish writer, Oscar Wilde said, "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken"!😊☘

You are so organized. I sew for as long as I can before something "interrupts" me in real life - cooking, kids, husband, helping with homework, and the worst of all, SLEEP. I never plan how much I'll sew, I just do it until life pulls me away or sleep gets in my way. ;)

That was lovely. And I realised that mothers all over the world have the same discussions about their children when they are on the field. I used to knit a lot when my girls were in school. And oh boy, you always have parents that just keep on yellling, that made me knit even faster! Anyway, thanks your cross stitch is awesome!

Thank you, Kimberly and team!! You’re right about parents thinking their kids are going to the Pro’s and they are 8 years old!!😆😆 After you go watch your kids play then a few years (it seems) later it’s time to go watch your grands!!! Enjoy 😊!!

Kimberly you are so right about kids sports! I completely agree with you. After one season of basketball my son did not want to participate because of that nonsense. Some parents are nuts and it is stressful, not only as a spectator but as a player. My son is in tennis at his high school and it’s much more chill. Less spectators and the schools have a rule if parents get to involved, they are asked to not come back after too many interference incidents. Love the video!

Thank you so much, Kimberly, for showing how you work on the gingham portion. So far I've only done the outlining, but I plan on filling in as I stitch the baskets. Hopefully I can keep up.

I have a really high IQ too and I lacked common sense at that age. He'll get there. Gentle reminders helped me. My parents were really good about prompting me before I got out of the car with things like do you have everything you need? where are you supposed to go? What time is the event over? etc.

I have to say, those middle school basketball games are much more intense than other levels for the basic fact that the kids win and lose the ball so frequently that the good old blood pressure rises all too frequently. Love watching your rhythmic stitching, Kimberly.

I have a suggestion, on the website when you are buying a cross stitch chart it would be great it you had a function that would let you add a check all box for the threads you need to complete that chart instead of having to add them one at a time .

aka Cathy Brock - Kimberly your stories bring back so many memories from when my 3 boys played sports. My middle sons first T ball game, he hit the ball and ran to 3rd base instead of first. And I can't agree more with how crazy some of these parents get. I stressed so much when they played sports, I was so glad when they got older and decided they would rather work a part time job to buy a car than play sports. I feel your pain!

Oh, my, I had to chuckle today…our son scored a soccer goal for the other team once, so I totally relate! He was so proud…until someone told him he ran the wrong way.😂 These are the things you will treasure as they grow up. Fun stitching today, Miss Kimberly!😍

Oh my gosh. Sports parents! My son played all the sports. My daughter played basketball and danced. I was in the stands a lot. I wasn't stitching then, I took my dishcloth knitting. And boy, I know those looks from other people. I sat by myself just a little away from the parent crowd, knit when they weren't in the game, put it down when they were. There have to be some sane people there and you can count yourself as one. Love your stories. Sorry about that basket...

My light just came on….Thanks Kimberly ie outlining…I am behind because the first checker board section for March was killing me, so I kept skipping working on it. I’ve been doing one color at a time. I get it!! I do not have an abundance of brain cells, that is ok I’m used to being behind. Over and out with much excitement for the not so “itchy fleas”!! Hugs

When I did the April baskets I turned my chart and fabric upside down and stitched them that way. When it comes time to do gingham again in August, I will do 1 or 2 of the squares per day until done. It took me about 18 hours to do March’s gingham.. I expect August to be longer. So breaking it up is gonna be the way to go on that for me. 🙃 💗Tonya

I agree Stitching is very calming. And you’re right. Sometimes parents are way over the top. I saw it with my kids and now with my grandkids. So sad. Kids are kids. They are not professionals. And refs are human. If the dads can do better then why don’t they go get their license to ref and give back instead of acting like lunatics. My rant is over. 😆 Loved your video. 😊

How do you get your stitches to lie so neatly when stitching in hand and using the sewing method? I have tried to many times and my stitches end up bunched and look terrible. Yours look beautiful! I would love to use the sewing method to be more efficient, but I can't seem to get the method down.

I enjoyed stitching my Barb Sweet Barn with you tonight! Because I am doing mine on 20 count aida and going over two, this is my first successful experience at that! Maybe I might actually try 28 count …. Though probably not!!! What happened with Emma’s knee. You said last week that you would be finding out. My youngest son is exceptionally smart. We have just two boys. So the smartest one was the perfect child and I really believed he would always be. But he turned on us. Nothing really bad, just not the nice sweet boy. He is now 40 and he has never returned to that sweet boy! He hates when I say that, but it is so hard for me to accept! And when it comes to dance moms versus sports dads, I think it would be completely different!

Where did you show how to do the gingham check part of this pattern?
@FatQuarterShopFlossTube2 жыл бұрын
Hello Linda! Kimberly did not show filling in the check she only showed how she outlines.
@geriemiller19342 жыл бұрын
For me, I've found it easier to outline by doing the little triangles on the outer edges as I do the baskets. I have to do less counting since there are 5 triangles along each line plus the little turning stitches.

What is the correct terminology for taking stitches out? I hear so many people say un-pick. So does that mean when you sew the stitch in you are picking it? I have never heard that before.
@FatQuarterShopFlossTube2 жыл бұрын
Hello Carolyn! I use the term frogging. It is referred to as frogging because you "rip-it" out which sounds like ribbit. I'm not sure who came up with that phrase.
