Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif travelled to Saudi Arabia for a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman. This was Sharif's first overseas trip since assuming office. The joint statement from Saudi Arabia and Pakistan highlighted that both leaders discussed regional matters, including the Kashmir issue. The statement said "the two sides stressed the importance of dialogue between Pakistan and India to resolve the outstanding issues between the two countries, especially the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, to ensure peace and stability." Despite Pakistan grappling with severe poverty and inflation, its Prime Minister sought support on the Kashmir issue during his visit to Saudi Arabia. To begin with, let us first correct some of the facts and place it in the right order. 1) The Kashmir issue has been internationalized by India itself as it was taken to the United Nations Security Council by India. 2) The Kashmir issue is not a Pakistans issue, and it is not about a piece of land. The issue is that India has never given and is not still giving the right to self-determination to the people of Kashmir. Moreover, India has deployed the military in Kashmir to suppress the ideology, will, and voices of the people of Kashmir. Also, to bring demographical changes. The political and social rights of the people of kashmir have been squeezed. 3) Pakistan, being a supporter and well wisher of the people of Kashmir, provides diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmir cause for the people of Kashmir. 4) Indias' stance regarding the matter is to solve the issue through bilateral talks. However, talking to a wall could never bring any outcome as there is no interest and will to resolve the matter at all. 5) I am not here to write an essay on Pakistan, but I need to remind the world that apart from economic situations and political instability, Pakistan has each and everything intact and is looking forward to flourishing in every aspect.
