My mom paid child support, but it’s because my dad stole me by lying to the judge and my mom, then going to court without her and my mom didn’t have the money to fight back 😳 but regardless, if someone is doing the majority of the child raising, the other should be paying child support. It’s usually the man because while ideally kids should have both parents, they usually rely more on the mother.

Child support is a mandatory thing to pay when you’re the legal parent of the child (doesn’t have to be biological just on the birth certificate) if you reach over a certain cap of money you owe the government to pay for the child(ren) a warrant is issued by the state/province. If the interest you have to pay goes up further it’s a country wide warrant meaning you legally cannot leave the country without being detained and arrested until you pay. (I know all this because my father is a dumbass and still has that warrant for not paying for me and my brother, yes legal and bio father)
