I mean this is literally an example of why you tell the truth. Dude didn't get thrown, abused, yelled at, or any charges thrown at him aside from a DUI. Most others would end up with a huge list of charges. Plus this kind of thing gets looked at once you have court and the judge will be way more likely to help you out and work with you. This is 100% the best way to handle it.

This is true to an extent. If it's a felony for sure do not admit guilt, if it's a misdemeanor it may be in your best interest to play along. The couple of times I've been busted with weed on me I just admitted it because it was clear to everyone involved I had weed and they had probable cause. The way the cop keeps dismissing that someone pulled a gun on him & treating him like his life isn’t human. How often do you see an honest user? He is a human being. I’ve dealt with this in my whole life & it’s rare to see someone still human behind the drug. It dehumanizes people to themselves & society but under it all they are just broken beings who need help & cant get it. The majority want to get better but can’t find the power to do so & it’s an endless struggle. He seems like a decent person. I wish cops didn’t only look at people for what drugs they use. I pray he gets clean & finds his way. He was honest.. kind.. & he took it like a g.
