2. The embroidering/stitching is used a literary device. Singer/narrator use the action of stitching motifs as birds, parrot, vines, etc. she sings the main themes.

3. The song is bittersweet if downright sad. It has to the sadness of parents being separated from their daughters as the daughters mature, marry and move away. The parent only get the rare seasonal visits from the daughter who are like migrating birds and temporary guests to their child hood home.
