This HAD to be intentional. WHY is the language that the PLANE collided with the helicopter and not the HELICOPTER collided with the plane. Phrasing is important. A helicopter is more maneuverable than a plane. The HELICOPTER collided with the plane.

This crash is probably due to NOISE ABATEMENT rules in the extremely political DC area. The 'copters are forced to fly down the river to avoid noise over the city. This rule puts the 'copters in direct conflict with landing airliners ... at the same altitude. In most area the 'copters would fly a large arc around the airport so there is a large difference in altitude separating the 'copter from the incoming airliners. BUT, local politicians in DC say no noise over the city. So, 'copters and airliners intersect at the same altitude, which is very dangerous.....will this change in the politically corrupt DC....no.

Just did some checking & the Military are exempt from any noise ordinance imposero by the FAA. Plus the Blackhawk doesn't come close to the decibel level that is the Stage 5 ordinance. So that theory doesn't hold water. Plus it began when Reagan was President. Surely there would have been a crash before now. Last fact. The hours of enforcement of thie ordinance are from 10P.M until Sunrise. What time did this cash occur?

Really? Then there should be dozens of reports of near collisions by pilots & that this subject would have been a big news story across the nation. I don't remember ever reading or hearing about this. If it puts passengers in a deadly flight path dozens of times a day don't you think there would have been public outrage? I gotta look into this. What you say is interesting. I can't believe(well don't want to) that the FAA would stand for something like this,but it is D.C.
