This is the best player introduction press conference in any Boston sports ive seen to date! Very impressed with Jrue the person. He's definitely likable! Great poise, well-spoken, and very sincere. I believe Milwaukee just gifted us the championship!

As a Pelicans fan that lost him a few seasons ago, I can feel you there. Still, I love the guy for the intensity and complete skillset he brings to the court. Even how he at some point carried through the Bucks season as the sole (!!) starplayer for a while and still gave them a winning record, that is some incredible floor raising that isn't often talked about.

In a way, its a mini version of garnett, but with a more complete offensive package. Garnett had size, incredible reactions and positioning around the rim, Jrue is a more swiss army knife player that can find value everywhere.

@@pinobluevogel6458 to be honest I was more excited about Porziņģis. Now I’m just as excited with holiday. I just think Porziņģis is going to be unstoppable last year. They doubled him a lot because Bradley Beal missed so much time and Porziņģis still had career numbers. No one can double him on the Celtics because you will leave everyone else open. Seriously he will be unstoppable against 98% of the big’s out there.

It makes sense that you need to give up a player of Jrue's Holiday caliber to trade for someone as elite as Damian Lillard. However, with how much of a complete game and the absolute mastery of defense that Jrue brings, I'm not so sure the Bucks are much better off. They might still have great interior defense, but they lack that great anchor that they had at the perimeter. Offensively, I'm sure they will be great, but they took a big hit to get to where they are now. And to get to the important point: I think the Boston Celtics got the best of this whole situation. They basically added 2 all star caliber players to their team. They are losing a bit of rim defense with Rob Williams III but got a much more complete package with KP, similary they lost Marcus Smart, but got a better player for it back in Jrue Holiday. In terms of playmaker / defender combination of players, I think Jrue is probably the best in the league. If the team can add some depth near the trade deadline, which really shouldn't be hard considering guys will be ringchasing and want to join the team, they will be in the best shape to make an ECF run or even win it all.

@@davighidetti8947 Dame had the best season of his career last season, being among the top scorers and playmakers in the league. And pairing that with Giannis, I have to say, is an intriguing combination and probably hard to stop. In a vacuum, he is probably better than almost any player at that position except Curry, but taking into account the fit on a team or the total package and reliability, I like Jrue a lot more for the Celtics, he fits with the defensive, switchable mindset and is a good answer to players like Dame in specific. So yes and no will be the answer for me.

I have to say though, Smart was in a way the heart and soul of the team. He had a few disadvantages, but what he brought to the celtics was unique and valueable. Having Jrue is definitely an upgrade though, in every way except hair color.

When all is said and done, the big winner here is Jrue. He went from signing a potential decent extension with the Bucks in February 2024 to now getting big money when he extends with the Celtics.
