I'm in Toronto Canada and my wife and I are both from Portugal. I'm from the Azores and she's from just north of Porto in Povoa De Verzim. We have been considering moving to Portugal for the lifestyle and tranquility. Watching your videos has been a great help to us in getting a better understanding of what to expect. You guys are awesome!

Hello, thanks for another vlog, and one of my questions is: do you think you will live long term in Portugal? As I said, I am planning on moving to Portugal. One of the realtors suggested Espinho as potential place in the Silver Coast. Homes are supposed to be medium-prized, and it is only 15 minutes to Porto by train and has a hospital in town? Do you know anything about the town?. I wonder if you can do some vlog about homes about 10-20 minutes away, but with good facilities. thanks
@ExpatsEverywhere3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. As we talked about in the Live Q&A, we're not sure. We're not looking that far ahead. We didn't come her with the plan of living here "long term". We have two years and we'll see how we're feeling. The longest we've lived in one place was Singapore and that was 4 years. We could see being here as long, but we're 6 months in and need a good year or so to really make up our minds. Thanks for the question. Regarding Espinho and doing something about homes outside of Porto, it's definitely possible, but filming with Valencia is very challenging and filming real estate is time consuming, so we have to figure out those logistical challenges. We're not set up to do that yet. - Josh & Kalie

Florida here guys!, quick Q: Panama vs Portugal?... ( two "Pees" in the pie)
@ExpatsEverywhere3 жыл бұрын
What's up Florida!? Total preference thing but do you want Latin America or do you want slow paced southern Europe? Lisbon vs Panama City would be mean you're spending more in PT but if you are thinking Panama City vs Porto and the rest of PT then PT is probably cheaper. If you're comparing a small town in Panama vs a small town in Portugal, Panama is probably cheaper. Timezone difference going to be an issue staying in touch with American family? Panama is better. Ease of getting back to the US, Panama is better. Ease of traveling Europe and the rest of the world and we'd say Portugal is better. What are your thoughts, Tony? - Josh & Kalie

Keep up the good work my friends I always enjoy watching your videos somehow 🤷♂️ I guess because I used to live in São Miguel island in Azores which by the way maybe it will be in your bucket list for your vacation if God allows. So like I was saying I was from the Azores and my parents immigrated to USA when I was 11 years old in 1990 so it’s been along time living here in the USA and the last time I have been there visiting it was in 1997 and I do love my country my place of birth which is the Azores but it’s funny how my grandparents and parents they moved here to USA for better life and to make more money and to give us a better future. Now unfortunately USA it’s been crazy with the violence, drugs the economy it’s been down since this pandemic and now I see people moving there I know the grass it’s not always green on the other side but seeing every year Americans moving to my little Portugal it makes want to move back lol. Good luck guys and congratulations on your new journey from USA ❤️👍

Congratulations on your 6 months in Portugal, I hope you are very happy here. But I have to tell the people who want to come and live in Portugal, the country is not only Lisbon, Porto and Algarve. The cities with the best quality of life are not there. Those places are expensive and increasingly touristy.
@ExpatsEverywhere3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. It seems like you're new to the channel and our content. We certainly don't just talk about those 3 areas. We're trying to cover the country from top to bottom. Some people are moving for a job, business opportunity, remote work, and retirement so their needs vary. Many are looking to live outside of Lisbon, Porto, and the Algarve. Still for whatever reason, many are still looking at Lisbon and the Algarve. - Josh & Kalie

@@ExpatsEverywhere My comment was not a criticism of you, it was just information that I find useful for the generality of people. By the way, I am Portuguese, my first 25 years were spent in the metropolitan area of Lisbon and the last 18 in Leiria (between Lisbon and Porto). If you have any questions (mainly about Leiria) you can ask me. Regards.

I am so concerned to have my dog traveling in the cargo hold that is so cruel and many pets have died traveling that way. I would pay the money to train my dog to be a service dog and take him in the cabin with me.
