Hey guys, KangasKid18 here and I know that I uploaded this out of order it's just... HOLY CRAP I GOT SHINY CELEBI ALREADY! After being sick all weekend I was able to come back and get this beautiful FULL ODDS Shiny Celebi after just 117 Soft Resets, my fastest ever 1/8192 hunt! Pokemon Crystal Virtual Console really paid off, and lemme tell ya, she looks real good here on Gen 7! The Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Living Shiny Dex just got one step closer to completion!

I tried a bunch of times soft resetting Start, Select, A, B. Multiple times I messed up. I'm happy that Resetting with the Reset on the VC menu works as soft resetting because that's a lot easier for me.

Shiny Mew Hunter Hunter Yeah mine wasn't this fast, but it was definitely under 1k and probably between 500-600 resets (I never count them) for me. Seems like odds aren't 1/8192 from all the uploads I've seen. That or a lot of people are very, very lucky.

Howd you hunt celebi and your team is that low of level? Don't you have to beat the Elite 4 first to be able to get the GS ball? Or maybe ur just really good and you didn't need high level Pokemon to take down the elite 4? I'm asking because if there's some way to catch celebi sooner in the game, I need to know about this lol

Honestly, I want to believe it has increased odds, since I haven’t seen anyone get this over 1,500. But maybe everyone else just quit. A few shiny hunters don’t have it yet.

Right, look at it this way: the game only came out on Friday, and it takes time to progress through the game to get to Celebi, so it makes sense that you'd only see the short hunts because the long hunts haven't finished yet. You haven't seen anybody get it at like 8000+ because it's physically impossible to have done that many SRs yet.

I can't believe you found it so fast Kanga! Personally I haven't purchased Crystal for the VC yet, but with how lucky you and other KZbinrs have been with this hunt, I think I'll finally cave in and go for it myself. With this down, do you plan on going for Jirachi via the Gamecube Colosseum method after you finish up the UB's? Haha.

Yeah i got it about 8 years ago and i simple dont recommend. Took 10 people trying for a combined 24,000 soft resets. Took months but gladly i have mine is ultra sun and moon. Whats crazy is it can only be shiny in 9 natures

If I catch a gen 2 pokemon in a ball which isn't a pokeball, it will be transfered to gen 7 in a pokeball? For example, if I catch Celebi in a love ball, it will appear in a normal pokeball in gen 7? Congrats btw :))

Probably way too late but it might still help someone. From what I've heard most people save their Masterball just for this Celebi hunt and use it once they've found it. Once transferred up it will revert to being in just a pokeball. So I wouldn't bother trying to catch it in a fancy ball.

I'm soft resetting for my own one... but I don't know if I should transfer it to USUM when I finally get it. I've heard of the clonning box glitch in gold/silver/cristal. It's possible to clone shiny celebi and transfer one of them to USUM and leave the other one in crystal? Nice reaction tho:) and congrats ^^

Doesn't matter, gen 2 doesn't show ball color and transporter makes all normal poke ball. Basically what you use depends on how difficult you want to make it.
