This was the best intellectual combination: Prof bhagwan & Dr. Raghu. The intellectual chemistry with subtle jokes was also a pleasure to watch.

i was there ... i attented this and till before Mr Raghuram Rajan came it was not exactly the most interesting (it was, but not much) - after Mr Raghuram came - it became next level interesting conversation . It was worth the time spent not gonna lie due to Mr Raghuram Rajan's entry in the end

Why did you invite this Pappu and anti Indian to such a prestigious school? He is a SAROS member.

Mr. Bhagwan was really good as a moderator...i sensed Mr RRR did not expect that his muddled narratives will be challenged in such a way than say in other platforms where he has gotten a free pass

Just in a lighter vein, It would have been equally great if they had similar 3 chaires ! Reflects poorly on the house planning of a Management institute of repute as ISB !! Nonetheless, an educating interview !!! Oh ! They did arrange for a similar chair , ultimately 😂

Doesn’t make sense. India needs to be industrialised rapidly because of simple reasons - National security. Our modern way of life is heavily industry driven and sorry boss can’t rely on the Chinese for my modern needs. The Chinese establishment is getting increasingly unreliable and will be a big nightmare for a sovereign nation like India. Besides Chinese economy is not doing good and that’s going to have severe repercussions on supply chains. So it’s better to do it from base and industrialise wide spread. This will help increase purchasing power of Indians which is what is needed. Once Manufacturing kicks in, it will normalise wages across services and manufacturing will as a result increase salaries in conjoint manner such that there isn’t underloading or overloading in any sector. Aim of this government is to industrialise rapidly and increase purchasing power thus invalidating Rajan’s thesis. India needs to normalise all kinds of labours across society and that’s how you’ll overcome caste barriers. Because real wages are determined by Markets. So more it becomes ubiquitous the better Indian society.

It's hard to take his views seriously. Distain for Modi and Modi government reeks through his opinions to the point where he makes outlandish comments but thanks to the left ecosystem he always has a following and an audience... low GDP expectations, does not want manufacturing in India, bend to the will of Western countries... what a shame.

We need to understand that manufacturing capability of chips and tech transfer is important,we can build on it later on,chinese never had the bullet train technology, they got it from japan and built their own design and became succesful in it. It is paying for the tech first and then improving upon it later. Just goes to show the man is an enemy.

The man has no clue as to how to provide jobs, there are millions of graduates from good universities who are jobless, education is not the way to achieve the employment goal it is skill development. This is coming from a man who didn't decrease interests rate giving illogical reasonings and harmed the economy and small businesses to the fullest.

The only reason bajaj was succesful in exporting their bikes because indian interests were compromised and many imports were allowed to give way to bajaj and tata access to china and African markets. Fool has no understanding of businesses,he should stick to macro economics though I don't think he has such a great grasp on it either.

Easiest thing in life is to write a book and sit on an arm chair and discuss utopian ideas and not look at practical and look at execution.

You the people, tell the "easiest task to write a book " but it's hard to write a book and promote throughout it. Nothing is easy and difficult but it's a game of mind boggling. The people like you, didn't imbibe it, correctly and consciously. Good Bye!

Rajan is an empty vessel. His prior commentary on India has all proved wrong. One should listen to him to understand what tragedy-of-experts means.

We dont need to take the export market of any country all we need is to have domestic products to be the only available option for our people. The need is to boost small scale industry and shut big corporates one by one, slowly and steadily. But he will never say that option is valid as he is a paid voice.

Food and beverages is the one industry that can give jobs to millions of house wives, all that is needed is to shut the big corporates feom operating using preservatives and provide products with 3 day expiry validity.

@@roger72715 The talk isnt about ...but about this guy who is seeking relevance . The UPA 2 had the best credentials for the Indian economy revival ...but faltered due to the remote control . Man for man there are many other competent guys from IIM who can deliver better than this guy . Destruction of the MSME ecosystem and trying to impose a misaligned Chicago template on the Indian economy . The only growth spectacle during his tenor was WATERFIELD ADVISORS ( u may want to check his conflict of interest there). Mgmt of economy has not been mod'is strongest point and the economic policies n implementation is one of missed oppurtunities . Raghuram Rajan is a political aspirant . Even the TN govt kicked him out of their advisory group. Let's not overstate his non demonstrated abilities
