The sports industry in Papua New Guinea, particularly rugby, has reached new heights, thanks to the leadership and hard work of the people behind the scenes. However, other sectors such as health, agriculture, justice, and others must also step up and strive to achieve similar success. If all sectors in PNG must work together and raise their standards, the country will become a better and safer place for everyone. While sports like rugby have played a crucial role in uniting PNG and driving development, we must ask: what about the other sectors? It's time for all to unite and contribute to the country's growth and progress. I salute the two PMs

Papua New Guinea will stand with Australia should there be any war again..thank you Australia..

Australian companies working in PNG paying taxes in Australia? Australia is against this because it is against good governance - you normally pay taxes in the country you operate in and earn your money. This is an excuse other companies and countries will use against Australia and not pay tax in Australia for business/income made in the country. This tax issue will not end well for both countries in the future.

Whilts Rugby league is probably Papua New Guineans National game, it is never ranked in the top 5 rugby league playing nations. NRL and State of origins are played down under but effects are felt there sometimes resulting in injuries and even deaths following rugby league matches. For Australia it is rugby league diplomacy. It is good in light of Chinese influence in Papua New Guinea.

Pros and cons are not being considered properly. This decision is purely based on emotions. A leader who makes any decision based on emotions is a poor leader. Those of you who support and call this a success let me tell you that what your government is doing is simply focusing on the minority who cannot cultivate their potentials to add value to the our national growth. The wealth of a country is measured by GNP. GNP requires that an individual citizens must be a producer in order to add value to our economy. What have you government done to the youths and homeless kids bagging for help in the streets and by traffic lights ? Any plans to maximize their potentials? Your ignorance on this helpless individual is what makes you an ineffective government. The opportunity to Excel in Rugby has limited corridor and only few individuals will make it. If you are a leader, you dont put development priorities in areas where success are slim. Think in terms of corporate benefits and not the individual or minority few.

Mate, I'm a Papua New Guinean born and bred. Didn't go to any fancy international school but I know this for a fact, this deal is the most stupid deal in history. Money needs to be spent elsewhere where needed like the health sector and economic sector. I'm a rugby and NRL fan, but I'm not stupid to support a useless NRL deal that won't help me pay tax or save my future kids from this economic crisis. I'm very sorry Australian tax payers have to pay for this stupid and ridiculous deal.

@@lemuelapuai4462 Important considerations: 1. Whether this means a diversion of funding from other areas or a new additional funding (apart from existing Australian support)? 2. Is this money going to be made available even if it wasn't for this NRL deal?
