This video and the follow up had me looking at my frame dies with a new eye. I was surprised by the variety of frames and spinner combinations I can make. Don’t get me wrong, the latest release from Pink Fresh is wonderful but I’m just about out of room. I am making a concerted effort to utilize what I already have. JM is always advising us to use what we have. I’m like “yeah, but I love getting fun stuff in the mail”. I’m having loads of fun taking a picture of my inspiration and then being really specific about the supplies I have that would work. I attach a note to the inspiration photo. I don’t know about anyone else but I have frame dies that let’s just say have strong personalities. Stuff I got in a kit subscription that’s like good for the month but then what? I’m thinking that an easel card with a spinner would make for a fun Easter card. An egg spinner with a floral frame. If you don’t have a floral frame you could use flower die cuts and hang them over the edge.

You might think I'm weird, but when you used the betterpress with the blue ink and the framed flowers, something about that just reminds me of Winnie the Pooh. Maybe some of the illustrations in the book or cartoon.

Jennifer, I loved the circles with the white sentiment that you inked over. I tried it myself on white cardstock, using Versamark and clear embossing powder, inked over it with Mustard Seed DO ink, and the text turned GREEN! Did I do something wrong?

When giving someone an easel card, do you need to give instructions on how to display it? Or do you just assume the receiver will know how to do it? I had never seen easel cards until I started watching card making videos and I don’t think I would have known if I received one…

Hi. Great cards. I’ve used betterpress plates for foiling with mixed success. I have the cobweb bettrer press plate, which is STUNNING foiled using holographic foil. But it cuts close to the side. It seems that my Platinum 6 is applying a smidge too much pressure for the glimmer system (also Spellbinders) and the cobweb hot foil plate. I can’t figure out if it’s possible to substitute a slightly thinner plate (I don’t think I have anything suitable). Do you have any suggestions please?

Credit where credit is due, long before Pinkfresh came out with the plain plate for the wasted foil, Nancy McCabe was using the back of foil plates with this purpose. The same with the Hammermill paper, after many tries with different results , that was the best paper for foiling together with the Hamilco. The Foiling Snobs’ Club started a few years ago, and I got the feeling these folks are using someone else’s work and taking credit for it.
